I watched it last night aswell. I generally do this - watch the first few episodes of a new series of BB then give up on it. It becomes very repetitive and also I am not in every evening so it is hard to keep up. That bimbo Danielle Lloyd was made famous by BB and there are two girls on the show this year who are described as glamour models - one of them applied to be an FHM High Street Honey. So after this series ends, or whenever they get kicked out, look out for lots of photoshoots of these two in their underwear in Nuts, Zoo, and so on...

Bimbo, eh? What do you call girls who are porn stars, Max?

You sure you're on the right forums?

Sam, do you not think that Danielle Lloyd is a bimbo? If you accept that the term exists, and has a definition, then Danielle Lloyd fits the bill - wouldnt you say? Unless you think describing her as a member of Mensa, a post-grad PHD professor, or possibly someone in the running to win a prize for a thesis on compound nuclear physics would be more accurate? Somehow I dont think Lloyd would fit one of those descriptions, do you?

Of course the term exists and has a definition; and of course a glamour model, or porn star would fit that definition, but that doesn't mean you have to use it.

'Nigger' is also a term that exists, but would you use it to describe a black man and think it's ok?

Regardless, you never answered my question: What do you call porn stars?

"Bimbo: Slang. A woman regarded as vacuous or as having an exaggerated interest in her sexual appeal."

Fits a porn star perfectly, wouldn't you say (not the vacuousness but the interest in their sexual appeal)? You like Poppy Morgan, don't you? Is she a bimbo, Max?

I look forward to your reply.

That's a good point Sam. By your rationale Max there's a lot of pornstars who also fit the bill of what you would call a bimbo. And since this is a forum that promotes and appreciates porn performers, why post here?

Shouldn't you be posting on the mensa forums, getting all frothy over a librarian and her lovely, yet warming cardigan?

Sam, one cant label people from an entire profession 'bimbos', and I've not done that. I said that Lloyd, specifically, is one. I've not said glamour models in general are. Lloyd admitted in an interview that she has never worked and wouldnt know how to, she also comes over as really dim. Another girl who does Lads Mag photo shoots might not be dim and therefore I wouldnt call her a bimbo, but Danielle Lloyd certainly is one.

On the issue of pornstars, those who are braindead and gormless should be called 'bimbos' and those who are bright and intelligent should not. As I said, one cant label a whole category of people 'bimbos' - it depends on the individual. I dont get your comparison with using a nasty term for an ethnic group with calling one glamour model a bimbo. As there can be no justification for someone calling an ethnic minority person the 'n-word' then the term should not be used with reference to an ethnic group, nor to one member of that group.

I'm not saying you used it that way, you just used that as an example in your post. Someone who is thick and doesn't care that everyone knows it should be called thick, or called another term that is similar. Poppy comes over as intelligent, I've seen a few interviews with her, therefore 'bimbo' would not be appropriate. If I saw an interview with a porn girl who DID come over as thick then 'bimbo' WOULD be appropriate a title to call that girl, and I'm sure there are some porn chicks who that would be applicable to - and many that it would not.

You also said the newbies were a collection of wierdos, oddballs, bimbos and so on. Not just Danielle Lloyd.

A couple of them come over as bimbo's when you hear the talking about themselves, their lives, aspirations, and so on. Other young women in the new BB series do not come over that, but several do fit into the weirdo and oddball catagories.

I don't think it's really fair to call them that though. What I've always found in Big Brother is the people don't come across as themselves on the opening night. They all seem like idiots at the start, hyped up on adrenalyn, some out of context quotes edited together, but once you watch them for a while your opinions change.

Max, in what way is Daniel Lloyd more of a bimbo than any other model/porn star?

Check the definition of 'bimbo' again: Bimbo: Slang. A woman regarded as vacuous or as having an exaggerated interest in her sexual appeal.

A glamour model's job is to have an exaggerated interest in her sexual appeal. A porn star more so. They are bimbos. The difference between us is that I choose not to use such terminology, you do. It's a real derogatory term, like 'nigger' and so my analogy is spot on.

If you don't like Daniel Lloyd then that's fine, we all have our opinions, but to be consistent then if you're going to label her a bimbo you have to label all females -and males- in the sex/glamour industry bimbos.
