So lets see, my mother who`s on invalidity benefits and incapacity due to having scoliosis should have her spending dictacted by you? I mean she`s worked 20 plus years until this hit her but hey, she`s on benefits. She`s not entitled to say buy her grandaughter birthday presents and clothes or anything that some people would consider frivolous.
Way this countries going soon there`ll be lynchings for anyone considered a benefits scrounger.

Are you serious ?
I'm not a doctor and I don't know why exactly they require mobility cars but one of the fuckers has numerous convictions for burglary and theft. If somebody is fit enough to climb over garden walls, break into houses and garages, then carry off the loot then surely he's fit enough to walk down to the local supermarket. I'll go so far as to say they might actually be fit enough to WORK.
On another note, do you think that it's acceptable for somebody to spend ?1000 + of the taxpayers money on a number plate ?

I think this story is a crock of shit.
I don't know anyone who'd express out loud they were on the dole (in a doctor's surgery no less) and then 'burst out laughing'. Of course, there may be quite a few who thought it was funny, but this whole 'lighting a fag and driving away' just as you came out of the surgery (how convenient) sounds bogus. No doubt they were setting fire to twenty quid notes and throwing them out of the window too....
What bollocks.
No offence.

It's not all made up, I'm sure. You probably did go to the doctors, and probably did overhear someone mentioning they didn't pay for their prescriptions, and that was enough to get you on your high horse. All this 'mock horror' before 'bursting out laughing' and 'lighting fags' before riding off into the sunset in a 2 year old car.........all could be true but I'm calling it a crock of shit! It's too convenient and complete gold dust for a grumpy, daily-mail-reading nut-job like yourself. That story will keep you going down the pub for a year or two, won't it? I bet you came in your fucking pants! Hahahaha!
You could get a gig on Jackanory with tales like that!

On the other hand, the private plate could have cost as little as ?159.00 Not all "cherished numbers" costs thousands of pounds!
Anyway, how do you know it was the "taxpayer's money" that paid for the plate? They may have purchased it while legitimately employed before being made redundant? It could have been a gift from someone else in the family. All you have is porn historian's (more than biased) slant on events which may or may not have happened, without any background information.

At the moment where I live, unemployment is about as low as it is practical to get (less than 5%) and yet there are still perfectly fit, able people on the dole. They play tennis. They walk the dog. They're interested in art, sport and travel. But they can't work because they "couldn't handle the stress". They manage to get some sort of medical classification enabling them to avoid the obligation of working.
At the same time, I see people who are quite disabled - blind, paralyzed, or intellectually disabled who still prefer doing something useful to earn their money rather than sit on their fucking arse all day.
With some people however, we're probably better off paying them to stay out of the workforce rather than lumber some poor small business with a lazy, argumentative trouble maker who simply refuses to put any effort in. Often these wankers are completely comfortable with watching everyone else work while they sit back.

A quick google search showed a similar plate for ?9995 and since I know the initials used and you do not, I am in a better position to judge the price. Maybe you should stick to valuing items you are actually aware of.

The person in question has never held a legitimate job and as is often the case, the family of the said person have carried on the family tradition of doing fuckall (unless you count burglary and theft as legitimate employment.)
