UK TV IS 100 % crap

Yes I agree, I'm fed up with adverts, it's one reason I'll never sign upto Sky. They're worse - it's almost got to the stage where it feels like the actual adverts themselves are the main program interspersed with some 'nonsense' about elephants for example.

All television is shite,especially if you've been viewing it like most of us here for 30/40+ years...not too much that most of us havent seen so its not hard to fathom TV doesnt really excite like it may have 20/30 years ago

The ads just irritate because the shows arent all that stimulating

Occaisionally, just, a good programme is broadcast on UK TV.
Having viewed in Singapore, Cyprus, Portugal, France, Germany, Holland, Denmark, Jamaica, US of fucking A and Canada I can assure those who think UK TV is crap that the afore mentioned are head and fucking shoulders far far worse than UK TV. I never got to Oz but, the shyte that they send here Naybors and Cell block fucking H tell us all we need to know about their TV. Crap is the word.
If you have cable then when the adverts come on, and they seem to be all the same and at the same time, then scrolling through keeps one appraised of what is on next and you can get a programme that isn't showing adverts. They are usually, I think, those progs or films that don't start or finish on the hour or half hour.
What annoys me most on UK TV is the 118 fucking advert with those two Dave Bedford fucking moronic clones. If the bastards continue to advertise the way they do then perhaps they might bankrupt themfucking selves. Does anyone actually use these twatts for finding a phone number? I'm fucked if I would.

The truth is its crap because most TV made now goes straight to Cable/PAY TV
and if it happens to go straight to free to air/licence Tv if it doesnt rate it can easily be pulled in a millisecond..............now that really peeves me

Our ABC basically takes anything the BBC makes which makes it one of the better stations to watch because all you get as of now is promos between shows and NO ADVERTS

Our other government station SBS is the same

Its only the commercial stations who think they can fill up the schedule with b-grade yank crap while plugging adverts

Where ratings arent the be all and end all quality productions tend to thrive
imho? Alas when a show becomes a cult classic the commercial boys flash the cash and you end up with this awful pseudo show which you've seen without adverts but now have to endure with...not surprisingly they rate worse with adverts than without

I htink there is a lot ofgreat stuff on tv. its jsut there is mire stuff I wouldnt watch sandwiched inbetween on a lot more channels that its like sensory overlead

Quick poll: of the c. 620 TV channels on sky, what percentage would you say you watched reasonably frequently?

For me, it's about 18 / 3%. And most of those are Free-to-Air / Free-to-View stations. That's why my Sky is being d/c'd at the end of my current (better-than-half-price) 12 month contract.
