don't know who was the carrier, I will check and let you know, many thanks for all your help and please let me know if you find out anymore about any change in the law as mentioned by sugardvd. regards.

I've asked around and no change, the law is as I thought it was.

FedEx put honest declarations on the package, which in effect actually
solicits Customs scrutiny- that, and the massive boxes they use. FedEx'ed
stuff is 100 times more likely to get examined than a plain brown envelope.

just had a reply from sugardvd, it was shipped on the 18th via usps priority. the customs form stated the contents were a dvd movie. they have quoted a usps tracking number but I have no idea what to with it. looks like I'm stuffed.

USPS states it left their facility on Sat 19th am and is in transit.The fact that sugardvd wrote "dvd movie" on the custom form almost certainly means it's been picked up.

IIRC the item is no longer tracked after leaving the US. Give it a few more
days before writing it off.
