10 years ago I said that they would one day soon invent a machine (that became Virtual Reality) and you takes your drug of choice to put you wherever you wanna be, wire yourself in and bingo you enter your computer world and Fuck Lady Di or whoever. I think you're right. I find almost all-contemporary porn extremely tedious and off-putting. So much so in fact that I now only ever watch it in the line of duty. The people making porn nowadays seem far to wrapped up in it, stewing in their own porno juices, and basically making material for themselves (which is probably why folks here are always asking - Why is Brit-porn crap?) But every cloud has a silver lining - I find that I now get out more often and interact with real women - be they courtesans or horny ladies I meet on dating sites. These ladies are quite often married, but looking for exciting trysts and no-strings sex. Internet dating sites are a big deal now and everyone can take part. You don't have to have the confidence and front of a 'Joe Cool' to approach a lady on the net, as there's minimal loss of face if you are turned down. And hey, if a lady likes the look and sound of you, they will often proposition you! On the main dating site where I?m a member there are over two and a half thousand women in my immediate area, who it seems, are gaggin? for a shaggin?! As more people get turned on (via the web) to swingin, escorts and dating, their appetite for video erotica will inevitably diminish further.

It's all been done .... porn is on a plateau, the only way is down in established markets.

The only future for the industry as a while is to keep expanding into new territories as they become liberated and more wealthy. This happened in Eastern Europe, Spain, Portugal ... and is continuing in places like Latvia, Russia, Poland etc.

So in world terms the future of porn is as bright as ever .... with most of Asia, Africa and China to conquer in years to come. South America has huge potential.

The UK and Ireland are lost causes to the porn world, niche markets and limited customers .... and it'll never change. Most of Western Europe and the US only has a gloomy outlook .... porn is now mainstream entertainment and pumped out by satellite and cable as a night time schedule filler ... it's still rakes in big money for Canal+ and Sky Italia etc. ... but not as much as it did a few years ago.

A lot of companies are going global to maximise the profits ... you probably know Free-X broadcast in Europe, North America and Asia via satellite, It's the only way for a solid future. Local companies for local people are yesterdays companies. The same way no individual producer is ever going to succeed big time in his own right - you need to be an Evil Angel or Platinum X with access to all markets and all forms of distribution. Lots of small companies may spring up, burn bright and disappear ... but their only purpose is to serve masters, who run the business as a business.

Porn is no different to the auto industry ... there will always be a need for cars, just not many new mass manufacturers are going to appear.

Yeh it was and its not that far away. I been playing with Silicon Graffics stuff for years and some of the stuff you can do on it is amazin, As for reality sex my fav was Woody Allen in "The Sleeper" when he goes into the Orgazamatron machine,, or Barbarela,,, we should have the final demo ready for Vegas but I have it all here working. Dibbs our market is about to explode simply due to delivery, why have the soft channels survived, why do I still sell 18 soft-core. Because the big market wont go into a sex shop or buy a wank dish. They are normal ordinary blokes or couples who wanna watch a bit of porn on demand. The biggest line I ever hear is "I was just flicking through the channels and I found porn" the delivery will make wanking or turning your misses on instant and discreet.

Nach good bit of sense, and on the ball. Sat is not the answer tho as it is to expensive for everyone, Why are sky buying ISP's. transmitting globally can only be done cost effective using Broadband...what about Hi-Def and on demand. IPTV has limitless channes on an ordinary set-top box you could get 50000 channels.
When you move into a new market like Asia all you do is locate a storage server in the teritory and operate it from your base, its that easy to set-up

I've got access to about 20 hardcore satellite channels ... they buy the material for next to nothing, because nobody will pay money for an individual DVD that's over a year old and the owners get a bit money from selling their entire back catalogue to satellite distributors..

The channels sell the subscriptions really cheaply as they're Pan European broadcasters, they work on mass sales of cards to provide profit - none of the hype, over-pricing rip-offs of the UK scene where they think they can get away with overpricing and under delivering just because it's sex.

Most of the movies on satellite are a year or two old and worth watching as part of a subscription, but you wouldn't pay for them on an individual basis. I never watch an entire movie anyway ... I watch a scene that takes my fancy then flick round the channels until I see something else. I've no particular allegiance to porn from any country or particular girls ... US, France, Italy all make good and bad ... as long as there are plenty of newcomers I've not seen before. Some of the output is from big studios like Vivid, Wicked ... but you may as well be watching a soap opera as the same contract girls are in every movie. I prefer more the pro-am stuff like Teens Goin' Wild ... nice girls you've never seen before ... some you see again, some you don't.

I think the first market to go will be the UK market. The fact that we are so crowded, makes it easier for people to ditch watching porn DVD's and venture out onto the streets in search of more "hands on " experiences. Countries like the USA are vast and it is therefore far more difficult for, say, a hick, in a small town to dabble in wider experiences, without either having to travel a great distance or being found out. So he will be more likely to settle for a pile of DVD's stored away in his shed, next to his chainsaw.

We on the other hand have decadence on our doorstep, from drugs to hookers to dominatrix's, they're all there within a short drive away. (Unfortuantely living in Sth of France there's fuck all on my doorstep apart from a pile of dog-shit some French mutt left me to clean up!)

I think the rise of TV stations like Babestation and their ilk, further prove my point. People pay good money to watch some bird bouncing up and down on a bed as if she's auditioning for Exorcist Part4. Why are these stations doing well? Theres no porn, no fucking, in fact there's bugger all...........apart from one thing: interaction! The poor saps who watch and pay can actually include themselves in the fantasy of fucking one of the girls.

This is the fundamental weakness of mainstream porn, there is no way a punter can include himself. How can Jo Normal, watching Mr Universe shagging Miss Wonderful ever feel part of the scene?
