That was part of my thoughts Paul but not the main reason in my opinion.
Perhaps I should have said the lesson should start by establishing why punters use the American market.

My 2cents worth is :-
I have used lots of "Top cream of the crop" models over the last several years and im not 100% sure that was a wise decision. Although my stuff is totally exclusive to my site.
I see similar sites with nearly the exact same footage I captured but obviously filmed at a prior or later date.
Maybe models do have a limited shelf life, after all theres only so many ways you can strip off and dildo yourself to a frenzy... before getting a groundhog day feeling.
I can see a unknown, but not as attractive model who may only do 1 or 2 scenes in total then quit, being a bigger draw than a stunner who has done the same scene for a 1001 websites.

Was reading on another forum that they think the hard times are caused by too many models working for free, doing tfp and content shares and profit shares, people aren't paying models because they know they can get for free. I thought it was getting bad when Kayleigh was doing continental ?25 ph the other week but would you believe there is a girl on another site just now advertising doing solo with toys for ?10 an hour, that's right a tenner an hour, fucking hell that is mental but seems there is so little people paying just now that models have no choice, lower rates or nothing is the choice.

Thats all news to me Stockie. I wasnt aware that the tfp and content swaps were a problem but even if producers were getting it for free it still doesnt alter the fact that the product is not moving and I think for some this is where the problem lies in the equation of not making any money.
Dvds cost, bbfc fees and the low rates per unit dont help. I would say this is exactly where the problem is.
If models choose to give it away at a discount then thats a problem they can easily remedy. Even with contnent shoots I find myself footing half the costs anyway.

I agree times are hard, but they are also changing rapidly. How ever we still get to have great sex with some wonderful women . So it isn't all bad.

As Maggie Thatcher once said you cannot buck the markets and with interest rates creeping up the market will be getting tighter, baton down the hatches !sad!

In my own small way have noticed a downturn in business recently, so yes I agree with most of the comments. Its mainly a hobby for me (I'm independently weathy! ) however as a keen market observer I'd suggest the following (in no particular order):
Yes the market changes rapidly... but we pay lip service to it!
The market for "glossy porn" is in terminal decline
The POV and themed porn is becoming mainstream and will continue to grow significantly
Porn is probably getting more extreme (not a trend I welcome) certainly in the US it is, but I'm not entirely convinced its what the market wants.
Milf porn and porn with a connection to the producer (wifeys world, hotwiferio, ladysonia etc) will grow
I wouldn't like to be depending on DVD sales
Quality female performers will always sell ( and produce a good return on investment), but entirely subect to my comment on "glossy porn" in terminal decline
Enough... I'm away back to my M&S profiteroles & saturday nite "joseph"
