"Playboy" used to routinely have shaven models?? I don't think so. The magazine never showed the crotchal area until about 1972, & then only the upper mons, which was often air-brushed to make it indistingushable from the lower belly. When they got to showing the real thing, there was always hair IIRC."Penthouse" made waves c. 1973 by showing actual labia-- a big deal at the time, but again, there was fur present.

Actually, the first glimpse of pubic hair for the Playboy centrefold was Miss January 1971, Liv Lindeland. Our own Marilyn Cole, Miss January 1972 was the first British girl to appear full frontal with pubic hair for Playboy. She went on to marry Victor Lownes who was head of British Playboy operations.

You are correct Buttsie, there were several 'sneak previews' of fuzz pics before the BIGGIE in January 1971. My post revealed the 'first centrefold' with bush on display. I think, if memory serves me correct, the first glimpse officially was Marcia Hunt the black dancer from the musical 'Hair' in 1969.

Well done guys ! I did mean modern post Harrison Marks as much of his work was airbrushed, and all black and white. Pity no girl has contributed but the early ones are probably drawing thgeir pensions now and not into email! Many natural blondes, especially scandinavian hardly need to shave! I'm glad the subject is drawing the regulars into the debate. Can anyone date the Stephanie Maclean pictorial, as it certainly raised some controversy, less than Vivianne Neeves in The Times which tells us that its not what you do but where you do it!No doubt the same debate could be held on the first UK open pussy- the first uncensored insertion ( not under the counter). Great advances have been made in last ten years, thank God!
Bye the way "Lost in the Woods", how do you know Eve was shaven, you don't seem THAT old! Perhaps you should get out more!

Eve and all other women portrayed in bygone ages were shaved if you believe paintings and sculptours. Venus de Milo is shaved, Michaelangelo's Cistean Chapel paintins depict shaved women. These artists had NO imagination!!
