Hi Jason/Phil
This is a good idea for us to meet up & discuss all the points raised above, trying to make the industry more safe is a good idea & were behind you both 100%. Me & John have always said this day would come as the UK industry got bigger, we may demand our preformers to wear condoms in the films we make but respect the point that its hard for Pro preformers & big companies to do the same. Making the adult industry enviroment a bit more safer can only be a good thing.

Re: Meeting re HIV & STD certs in the UK industry
Guys
At the end of the day everyone is right when they say there is no guarantee re testing, someone can have a test one day and pick up something the next, so No test will ever be totally safe. What I believe the producers ,agents etc have, is a responsibility to minimise that risk for the people that work for them,by implementing STD testing then we are helping to reduce the risk of STD,s .
I honestly believe that most of the professional models working in our industry want this and they want 30 day tests both for HIV and STD's.I am allready seeing some of the top performers ask for this ie Steve,Tony ,Angel etc and they wont work without it ,we all have a responsibility to make it happen and help minimise this risk.
I am sure there will be some that dont agree and so be it, then the models have a choice if they want to work for them. The least we can do is our best to make this industry a little safer for those that work for us.

Mike...
It is'nt that I don't agree; I've been at pains to point that out - repetitively... Unfortunately, the problem is that it is not currently practical. There seems to be some naivety regarding the opportunity to get certificates if you live outside London.
Yes - I'm all for 30-day tests. In fact, I'd be all for daily testing, being tested each time you walked on set - WHATEVER frequency you want to put on it - the more often you're tested, the better - absolutely - but please consider the current situation and capacity for issuing certs before we rush headlong into something that is totally impractical.

Re: Meeting re HIV & STD certs in the UK industry
Hi Jason, hope your all well!
I think it's a good idea and I hope it works but here's what i've had to do over the last 2 weeks.
I came home from LA on the 18th with full HIV/STD Cert (2 weeks old).
On Mon 23rd I called my local GUM clinic to be tested again.
They gave me Mon 8th March and can only get me in a week earlier if my doctor thinks I have an STD for definate. I'm clean so have to wait 2 weeks.
I then have to wait a week for the blood test type results and pay ?54 and wait another 3-5 days to get the results printed.
Thats 24-26 days!
So if I didn't work for a few weeks and didn't get tested I could only take jobs that were booked 3 weeks in advance or I wouldn't have the paper work.
In the US it takes around 3 days!?!?
It's a really good idea and I want my work as safe as possible but we'll have problems until these clinics can sort themselves out!

i totally agree with the 30 day tests and have be wanting this for a long time i will only be home on the 20th of march wanted to be there damn
anyway i for one have always gpot a test every 30 days for my own piece of mind i also belive everyone should have a full std test cert to and i hope to see the introduction of the pcr dna test like the one they use in america
this tests the bodies dna instead of the blood and cuts down the time frame from 3 months to within a few weeks and is much safer its is avaliablke now but is very expenisve i hope to talk with aim here which run a very succesful and quick testing facility for adult performers top any suggestions they have on introducing this to england i hope the meeting goes well i for one will feel much better to work with people with newer tests

Re: Meeting re HIV & STD certs in the UK industry
I've been thinking about what Jason said about it being STDs, not HIV that worries him.
I get tested at Charing X.
You get the test, then it takes a week for the results. Which because of the time it takes for the STDs results (HIV only can be done in a few mins, at least in some clinics).
So to work all the time with 30 day rules you basically have to have tests every three weeks, (because your cert is a week after your test). That's a day wasted in London most weeks if you live outside London. (Week one, test, week 2 results, week three - no trip to London. Week four - test...)
But Jason also says it about how many people you could pass an STD to, which is a good point. But that depends how much work you're doing.
I've been at this a few years and I do 1-2 shoots a month, 3-4 tops, and get tested every 3 months so I'm a much lower risk for a girl than a full time stud working all the days he can, even if he is on a 30 day cert.
For my money - full timers should go to 30 day certs, and part timers three month ones. Producers can tell the models whether the shoot is a 30 day one, or not, and models can take it or leave it. Obviously if you want a particular girl and she only works with 30 day certs, then you need to work with that.
For anyone planning ahead - my next 30 day window will be early to mid May. I know how to plan a diary and will be at any shoots you book me for, even that far ahead:-)

Re: Meeting re HIV & STD certs in the UK industry
"I've been thinking about what Jason said about it being STDs, not HIV that worries him."
As some STI's can be caught and passed in a few days, (chlamydia 1-3 weeks, gonorrheoa 1-14 days), 30 days tests will have no effect unless combined with a total abstinance of unprotected sexual contact with the great un-tested by the performers. And its not just about sticking your dick in someone, fingers and tongues pass it around, too.
So unless everyone with a test only has sex with someone with a test, 30days or 90 days isn't going to make much of a difference.

We have need of you again, great king.
Re: Meeting re HIV & STD certs in the UK industry
Peter, I'd agree with you... but I also agree with the notion that the more frequent the test, the "safer" - for want of a better word - the industry will be... But my argument all along is simply that the UK medical establishment currently could not cope with a 30-day standard.
Again, as I've said before, I'd be in favour of weekly, daily tests - even being tested each and every time you walked on a set - I'd have no problem with it - but the truth is, the system just is not geared up for it at the moment.

Re: Meeting re HIV & STD certs in the UK industry
By the way have you invited a MP or member of our Government to your meeting as if remember you want anything changed in this land you have to do it the right way not the way you want to and if you haven't i would be careful as you could be breaking the law.
Laws in this country are made by government not members of the public and i'm sorry but your just a member of public. You can ask for a law to be changed yes that your right but you can't enforce it yourself.
Now Discuss this is one thing but trying to enforce it is other. As we are told time and time again we can't take the law into our own hands you have to go through the proper channels to get anything done and it can take years.

Dave...
With the utmost respect - I believe you're WAY off track here!
There is no "law" regarding HIV/STI certs - certainly not to my knowledge atleast. There is simply an "industry standard". The industry is self-regulating on these issues. To my knowledge governments haven't - and indeed I don't think they will - get involved and impose "law" surrounding performing in adult productions.
