I agree Mike...

You're missing my point. I'm saying that he (and a couple of others) stand above most world leaders today in their defence of freedom and the redistribution of wealth to the poor. I'm not romanticising him - just saying he's vastly preferable to another pro-Bush puppet leader.

Believe me, in the long run a Chavez is better for freedom than a Pinochet.

"Left-wing intellectuals like you always romanticise about proletarian leaders! "

Well observed, Mike. In my book there's nothing worse then pretentious, middleclass, intellectuals posing as spokesmen of the proletariat or romanticising our way of life. They tend to imbue themselves with moral righteousness and convince themselves that they have the best interests of working folk at heart (which gives them a smug, self satisfied, and fulfilling glow) but regrettably they don't know jack about us prols. They don't understand our sub-culture or our aspirations - which are totally different (maybe even at odds) to those of the well off, 'socially concerned', middleclass person. They talk a load of delusional cack about ?equality? 'the underprivileged?, 'the socially excluded' and 'the deprived', safe in their leafy, civilised, middleclass enclaves - each one an oasis of Beaujolais, sun dried tomatoes, Parma ham and protected pensions. But when a mere prol has the temerity to question their deluded middleclass assumptions and contradict their poncy middleclass ideals they become very condescending and patronising - as though talking to a child with ?leaning difficulties?. Of course they never see it, but this blows their high minded talk of equality, respect, and their (self invested) moral superiority right out of the window and at once shows them up for what they really are ? no better than us, the unpretentious masses.

We (the prols) don?t go about professing concern for strange people in exotic far flung comers of the world of which we know little ? because guess what? We don?t give a fuck. Working folk are concerned with the here and now, with their friends and family, with their own aspirations - which, contrary to what middleclass folks patronisingly assume, do not include a life time of drudgery and servitude down at the fish finger factory or Burger King (or down the fucking pits, if there where any left) no matter how many ?workers rights? they have. And when it comes to housing working folks aspire to much more than the regimented rabbit hutches of ?sustainable social housing? or the ?Fraggles Rock? that many of us might know as a contemporary council estate. Fuck that. What every prol really wants is a gaff like Posh and Becks with a bit of land round and a couple of Range Rover Sports 'n' a Lamborghini Gallardo in the friggin? drive. Unsophisticated, unpretentious, aspirations that are at odds with the life that public sector poncy fuckers have mapped out for them. Hey, come the revolution we?ll put all those hand wringing middleclass fuckers to work digging new coal mines - to replace the ones that they were so dewy eyed about losing in the mid 80?s. That?ll teach ?em. Let?s see how fucking nostalgic they are then.

Officer Dibble - help a poor impoverished prol. Buy my DVD?s.

The United States was born of revolution and when its people get tired of the present system they will rise up in arms against it in a new revolution. The right of revolution is in the American Constitution.

I was telling my mate, Dave (a bricky) about this debate on the forum and how some people seemed really, really, really, concerned that Uncle Sam had been beastly to some Diego commies on the other side of the world. He couldn?t? understand it and asked if there was something he had missed ? if people were so concerned about this, should he also be concerned? I mean, it wasn?t like he was a Diego or a commie. So, should he loose any sleep over it?

Officer,

What you say about land is right. Land was stolen from the indiginous peoples of this country to establish an Upper Class elite. In any revolution the people should be promised the return of lands stolen from their ancestors. Land is one's birthright.

To be self- sufficient is the aim:to grow one's own food and so on from a piece of land on which one lives. Family life and the return of the extended family would end the alienation of youth and the suffering of the old in state institutions.

Stolen land should be returned and the thousands of acres of land"owned"divided among families. The passage of time does not make a theft right.

Too right, Mike. I know what you mean. When me and my brothers were lads my great uncle Archibald (god rest his soul) often sat us on his knee and regaled us with tales from antiquity, tales of great daring do and family traditions. Traditions that had been handed down over the centuries to successive generations of Dibbles. I recall one such tale in particular, about how our family's estate and lands (now know as Yorkshire) had been cruelly misappropriated by the Norman invaders, in 1066 or thereabouts. Yes, it was a tale of cruel infamy, a tale of how the great Saxon War lord ?Dibble of Yorkshire? leader of the Germanic expats was betrayed, captured, and put to the sword just outside Barnsley. His rightful land and chattels then divvied up amongst the dastardly, chortling, Norman barons.

Ever since then, to this very day, it has been the duty of every Dibble to strive to regain the family estate and wreck vengeance upon the Norman pretenders.
