I must have fallen asleep about 11.15pm, and it woke me up from a very deep sleep, I wondered what the fuck was happening! I went back to sleep but had some strange disturbing dreams, so it must have subconciously worried me with me being too sleepy for it to register at the time
I'm about 20 miles north of the epicentre near to the Humber Bridge so pretty close to it

I was up and first read it here before flicking over to Sky news. How come I miss all the fun!!!!
Was it really scarey??? I can only just imagine. The earht movingg for miles beneath you must be an epic moment and the fact you have no control over it or when it wil end. Those few seconds must feel like an eternity.
Someone else used the juggernaut description on the news too.

Hey OEJ
Here in the Hex house we were about 25 - 30 miles from the epicentre.
Started as a really low rumbling and the door rattling in its frame and then seemed to escalate and get bigger. Felt like there was a dull second and then everything was jolting and shaking. Think it last about 10 or 15 seconds but it felt like forever. For a split second its so scary because I guess you haven't processed what's actually happening, just that something is wrong.
We weren't close enough to have anything damaged (not that I have noticed yet anywayz). Shook a few things off the tv and shook things to the edge of the shelves but nothing broke.
I asked my mum this morning if she felt it and she said she slept through it. Bless her !grin!

Terry, it felt like a juggernaut- and that is the right term to use- was under my floorboards and heading up! I've never known an experience like it...my door banged on its catch over and over; my wardrobe door on 'rails' banged back and forth too.
My computer table just vibrated- and I can remember the scratching of screws against wood.
Scary at the time, yes. Very.
Remind me not to move to California.
