The fact that this "protestor" has now contacted Max Clifford "for advice" says it all really.
Apart from that, I have to agree 100% with what randyandy and JRPornstar say above.
The police are damned either way and whatever they do. Who'd be a Met copper? Not me, Guv!

police attack on 'protestor'?
Re: police attack on 'protestor'?
Hold on a minute JR.
You've slagged me off enough times for being a "leftie".
Have you not read my posts?
It's neither left, middle or right wing opinion to say that those wishing to cause trouble should be dealt with.
It's common place now when X is told by a police officer to do something for X to say fuck off. X not being dealt with and having the opinion that saying fuck off to the police is perfectly acceptable is the issue.
Your recent posts about benefits which rolled all in to one was wrong. Part of the problems in our towns and cities is that the X's feel they can do what they like, when they like and there is absolutely no consequence for their behaviour.
Unfortunately for some the X's feeling they can do what they like, when they like and there being absolutely no consequence is their version of democracy and that is wrong.

Hungwell's statement above is absolutely spot-on.
The problem in the UK is that thanks to the all-pervasive "human rights" lobby / industry, the police are in a no-win situation before they even start, and are to all intents and purposes forced to police with one hand tied behind their backs.
Because if they stand back and let things get out of hand (with resulting property damage and injuries to the pubic) they get crucified for being "indecisive".
But if they retaliate against the rent-a-mob element or violent / unruly protestors and someone ends up on the business end of a police baton, then the hysterical cries of "heavy-handed policing" and "police brutality" are always result.
That's not the case on the continent - the police here don't fuck about. And yet there's none of the constant whining on about "human rights violations" and "police brutality" that you constantly get in the UK in response to what is (at least compared with the European model) namby-pamby, touchy-feely policing.
I've nothing against people demonstrating *peacefully* about issues that the feel strongly about.
HOWEVER - let's not be naive here: Most people going on these protests know *exactly* how things are going to go down, i.e. more than likely it's all going to kick off thanks to the "gobby fuckers on the front line" to whom randyandy refers in his post higher up.
These demos are a magnet for the rent-a-mob element. And yet people still insist on turning up. Occasionally you even see young toddlers being dragged along, which to my mind is just insane.
Chant and wave placards? No problem.
But if protestors get aggressive and up the ante, then water cannons and baton charges work for me.

If you result to insults and abuse the mods quite rightly delete posts and I regret that I was stupid enough to bite.
In my opinion the solution is simple and it's the same solution I've be giving for years and that's for the commitments made in Community Safety Strategies to be fulfilled.
Every council Labour, Tory or Lib Dem has them, they contain lots of key objectives which, if fulfilled, could make a real difference but they are failing and more often than not it's down to someone in an office just not doing what they should be.
Quits and friends? For now OK but if you return to the leftie nonsense I'll end it as quickly as Green Dave can change his manifesto to accommodate the latest news story. !wink!

Re: police attack on 'protestor'?
This country has gone soft - really soft, and all these humane rights lawyers will continue to make hay over the coming years ... as well as the media putting their own spin on events to suit their needs. Should still be plenty of work for Clifford now that the Goody Gravy Train has hit the buffers as well.
I think we are just very lucky that this chap who died here was actually white, for if he had been Black or Asian then the shit would really be hitting the fan right now ... cos you can bet that some would be claiming this was a racially motivated attack.

PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?
