Most of us will join under different names just to see if the DVD's are original or copies, must admit its a new way of pirating films.
Most film-makers i know wouldn't allow their distributors to supply such under handed companies as these, most copyrights at the start of films prohibits audiences lending, watching unless you own the film being watched.
It will good if you want to see just foriegn films but no British distributor wanting to keep their producers wouldn't take a chance with c~#~# like these.

Marino's advise was tongue in cheek, but it is welcomed by producers getting fleeced as usual. People fronting this site would be breaking the law & causing a lot of bad feelings so i suppose watching their backs would be a good thing to do.

exchanging or swapping movies will always happen but it is hard enough in the adult industry to sell your product and this sort of site will not help matters, it has been said before that sending porn through the post in the uk is illegal, so in theory this site is asking people to break the law. Maybe the mods over looked this rule: when they checked this post.

Depends how you define porn doesn't it. With the relaxation of the rules, forced by EU laws, pretty much anything (with obvious exceptions of bestiality and peadophilia etc) within reason is legal. If this wasn't the case then all the UK producers, actors etc would be in jail wouldn't they, not swanning around the country doing roadtrips (thanks Marino) and other wonderful things.
Maybe the reason that some people are suffering is that they just aren't original enough, there is after all stacks of average stuff available easily and free or for very little money.
You only have to look at Marino who has come up with an original idea that works and ends up with a nice distribution deal. It just goes to prove that if you've got the right product people will want to buy it.
No I'm not Marino's PR :-) but admire a bit of original thought.

Dusi, lawyers are too expensive, take too long to get things done. The law, like a lot of people here doesnt care about pornographers making money but are quite happy to tax us in every way possible. Sometimes the swift way to get things done is to utilise brute naked resolve to make sure the right people see you are upset...Sometimes a kind word works first but some people will push things just to see if you will do it.

I notice that no one has paid attention to the legal disclaimer that scrolls up preceding a programme about lending, swapping without authorisation. If I get up to do something about it, I wouldnt expect it to be pleasant if the other party feels they are in the right to do something while blatantly ripping off producers.

It depends on the lawyer, don't forget you are dealing in legal product now and it's time to come out of the shadows.

As I see it the whole industry needs to shake itself up and become more professional. You could all start by clubbing together and starting a fighting fund for situations such as this. It's amazing what a quick writ will do.

I can see you mean well Dusi. My apologies if I sound hostile towards you. This is an area that will be dealt with at some point but for now I do have more pressing issues that take priority. It seems there isnt much support in this area anyway by the lack of producer presence on this topic so it will only fall flat on its face. Besides, time will tell if they have an impact on the industry. My only concern at the moment is whether all the swaps are genuine originals.

I think you will find that the fee is to cover P&P, admin and good old PROFIT - no one does anything in this world for nothing.

The owner(s) of the site are doing it to make money so therefore it is a commercial venture and as they are making money off the loan of titles which explicitly forbid it then its illegal.

If they really wanted to do this properly (ie legally and ethically) then the thing to do would be to contact all the producers / distributors involved and buy a licence / pay a fee for rental rights, however, this would infringe greatly on their profits so we know that wont happen.

Its things like this (amongst many other things) that help screw up this business - so many people come onto this and other forums and bemoan the state of the adult industry in the UK yet either embrace or dont rebuke this kind of service which at the end of the day is taking money out of the producers pockets, the same pockets which have to be able to afford to go out and find and film new talent and new movies.

If you wanna help UK porn then support it - yeah it means putting your hand maybe a little deeper into your pocket but in the end it will be worth it for everyone including the punter.
