Strangely I haven't heard much from him for a while now. Strange in the fact that with all the shouting and screaming emanating from him I'm surprised that his shouts haven't travelled all over the Kingdom.

Jonathan Pearce was excellent as a radio commentator with Capital Gold, always favoured the London teams, when they were playing teams North of Watford, but he had to change his style of commentary on TV as he did'nt need to elaborate to his TV audience, like he had to on radio.
talksport have a few nutty commentators, like Nigel Pearson, who also commentates on the Speedway on Sky Sports during the summer.
Another quality oldie commentator was Hugh Johns.Made me laugh when he would shout 1-0!!!!!!.Stuart Hall is another top notch old school commentator.
I could mention other quality commentators like Sid Wadell and the great Peter O'Sullivan, but this thread is football only,i guess.

I used to snigger when his name was introduced as it sounded like 'Huge On'

Used to be Mike, but alas, he goes out of his way to quote Shakespeare when reviewing a match afterwards. Mind you, his commentary on Its a Knockout with Eddie Waring was brilliant especially as he spent most the time in fits of laughter and I always pictured him pissing in his pants such was his laughing

Gerald does a 'round up' on Match of the Day,,,usually a lot of FA third round games, but best remembered for frequenting gay cinemas when they were very taboo, he got found out when one was set alight and the police rescued him and several others.
Who else remembers this?

I thought he was the one who got embroiled in an 'under-age' rent boy saga? It was in the days before the equalisation of straight and gay sex.

No, Gerald was also caught wanking at an adult cinema.
David Pleat was a kerb crawler
Frank Bough was into cocaine fuelled S&M parties

Well who was the one who got caught with a 19 year old rent boy? In those days gay sex was only legal for over 21's.
Not David Coleman? You don't hear much about him these days. Gone into hiding?
