Who rates John Leslie (Voyeur/Fresh Meat)?

Following on from an earlier posting about big-budget UK productions, I want to bring up this guy, John Leslie, who I think is the king. I like classy porn but that doesn't mean I like Hollywood-looking stuff -- 'classy' is an attitude, not a reflection of the production budget. And John Leslie has often made pure magic out of so little. Yes he can afford cool locations -- and in doing so he spends money that some other American producers would never do -- but he's still forking out a pittance compared to the big production stuff.

Each to their own. I can tap into this guy's mindset because I love upmarket-looking girls getting down, I love the peeping tom vibe, I love he way he uses creativity to up the horn (without spending hardly any money on it), etc. But despite the fact he was one of the first guys to have his hardcore stuff legally available in the shops over here, I never hear him talked about. What do people think about him? Is he too -- dread word -- arty for general bgafd tastes?

I haven't watched a lot of what he's been doing since he went gonzo, but he made some great stuff in the early 90s - Curse of the Catwoman, Strange Curves, Chameleon, Mad Love, Chameleons, Hate to See You Go.

John Leslie has been around forever. I remember films he did with the Vanessa del Rio's, (American) Samantha Fox, Marilyn Chambers, Georgina Spelvin as far back as the mid-70's!

But since this is a forum for UK girls, the reason he's not mentioned at all is that he's hardly done much with UK pornstars, other than the earlier exports such as Taylor Wane, Nici Sterling and perhaps Roxanne Hall, none of whom, if we are to be perfectly honest, has been shouting their pride in their UK roots recently.

I don't think the judgement is that he's films are too arty. They're great, but they're overwhelmingly UK talent-less.

People talk about RedLight a lot more because Vince uses a lot of UK talent (Angel, Ashley, Jamie, Alicia etc). And so does Dick Nasty but we don't need to talk about him!

John Leslie is one of the masters of porn and The Voyeur/Fresh Meat series are some of the best around.

Uk film makes should watch them and take note, these are not big budget films, they are just filled with fantastic sex.

Anyone who has not seen either series should watch one now! It is not everyones cup of tea, but you will never know until you have tried.

I like Leslie's stuff- but especially in the Voyeur/FMs I wish he'd occasionally sacrifice 'art' for better lighting.

No, I don't hate you for ever for not liking Leslie (see above).
Perhaps one of our legal people could tell us if it's yet a criminal offence to purvey moody lighting in porn-flicks.
Another irritation in the Voyeurs is shooting for ages from 30 feet away. Yes, I know, but the average raincoater would hurry in for a closer look, wouldn't he?
