Porno Goodfellas?

Post by Officer Dibble »

Regarding Terry (One-Eyed-Jack's) timely reminder, in light of the American murder case, that with so many newbie producers wanting to get on the porno bandwagon there was the potential for some of them to turn out to be dangerous creeps and pervs.

Well, strangely enough I didn't have much of an opinion. However, the thought did strike me that "Hey, never mind about the newbie?s, what about some of the 'professionals' that have been in it since the 80's?" The West Yorkshire case springs immediately to mind. Almost al the models I have booked had a tale to tell about 'Sooty's' sleazy antics. And it was only a few months ago I heard of fresh arrests in that part of the world (cuffed and frogmarched from the building while in the middle of a shoot!) And when pawing, touching up and taking liberties with models is the subject of conversation it's not just Sooty's name that crops up.

But what I thought was interesting was where Terry said -

?Where will all the amateurs be if the shit hit the fan and they had to stand up and be counted? I'd bet they'd hide in the shadows and deny ever having anything to do with the adult industry, just to protect their own arses.?

Quite. I?ve noticed an upsurge in new producers and people wanting to get on to the porno bandwagon since R18?s became legal. The obviously think ?Hey, it?s all clear now. The shooting?s stopped. Safe for me to dip a toe.? Well, maybe. But one of the reasons that R18?s and porno production did become ?legit? was because of people like Me, Terry, Marcus, Ben Dover, Remington Steel, Phil McCavity, Nick Pace (deceased) Melissa, and others who are not public figures and therefore must remain nameless. It was we who helped create the tidal wave of illegitimate smut that washed over grateful consumers in the 90?s and created the situation where the law was being flouted throughout the land ? and therefore seen to be an ass. It was we who fought the law, stood our ground and at some point we have all paid the price - therefore paid our dues. All the above mentioned know what it?s like to have our gaffs turned over by the old bill, we all know what a courtroom looks like from the perspective of the dock and we are all familiar with the grim d?cor of police/prison cells. But we liked the biz, we wanted the dough, and hey, we didn?t give a fuck. We were porno Goodfellas.

Terry has posed an interesting question ? if the legal advances of the past few years were to be revered, would all these ?Johnny Come Lately?s' disappear as fast as they seem to have sprouted up?

The R18 case was fought by Sheptonhurst - one David Sullivan.

That's right Dave.

I did think of you along with the others and nearly gave you a name check in the above post, but wasn't quite sure about all the aspects of your career (me and Dave have never met face to face) So I didn't want to be speaking out of turn. Sorry for the omission.

Dude, don't you think a chap of my savvy and insight is well aware of that? You totally missed the thrust of what I was saying. What I was saying was that it was the activities of the small bands of illegitimate producers and suppliers that helped created the climate and atmosphere where it became inevitable that genuine hardcore should be legalised - because we were making it, supplying it and punters were buying it in ever increasing numbers. It was flooding the streets. The old bill had neither had the time or inclination to do much about it by the late nineties, the law was effectively unenforceable. And so, to not appear to be an ass the law was changed. Sullivan knew which way the wind was blowing by that time (shit we used to take out full page ads in his paper every week!) and because he had the means he was the one who gave the legal door one last mighty heave. Of course he only had porno fans rights and best interests at heart and the fact the he owned most of the shops that would be licensed to sell the new R18's didn?t come into it.

For the record:

In my heyday as THE major glamour model agency(Paramount) I provided Phil Sutcliffe (Fiona Cooper) with the vast majority of his girls - initially for the ORIGINAL single girl vids.

One time I had a complaint and I called him and said to the effect "What the hell you doing"?

He then told me that he had a contract in Sweden for Hardcore, I said "fine"
just tell me which girl you want and what for -and thereafter he did. -I would tell him "This is a naughty girll - this is not"

He played by the rules with me and everyone I sent to him knew EXACTLY what kind of video theu were expectd to make. There were never any complaints because everyone involved -Phil and the girls - knew was was expected and were shot/paid accordingly.

When he was busted the first time he called me and explained (his version) of the situation which was videoing a 15yr old girl playing with herself and he did not know that she was 15.(She worked for him on his estate) _NOT a model and as she said in Court, she was a very willing participant.

He asked for my legal help, in that although I had dealt with the man for 12ish years, we had never met!

So, I put my own lawyers on the case (VERY HIgh Powered) and -Lo & Beyhold, I was then informed that he had been busted for downloading kiddy porn.........................................What could I say?

Ayway, he was sentenced and did his time.(NOT ENOUGH)

He DID NOT abuse anyone. He downloaded kiddy porn.
This makes him a sick motherfucker in my book. Simply because one thing inevitably leads to another:

Start/graduation/consummation

Bit like the thread above re rape videos

Dave:

For once forget the "Good old days"

They are gone, never to return (If they ever were), life moves on and if one cannot accept this, 'tis better go drive a truck-or something.
