HIV Test ID Validation

Post by David Lever »

All this talk of 10 day or 30 day or 90 day tests are of course meaningless, since the private clinics and hospitals here don't insist on merging your ID into the Test Certificate itself. EG in Hungary you must produce your passport at the time of the test and the result is printed next to the copy of your passport.
So, over here, quite simply, someone could theoretically carry on infecting people as long as he/she wanted, by merely getting an accomplice to take the test in his/her name.
Hope there are no mad Christian Fundamentalists reading this!

At Indigo you are required to produce photo ID - passport or drivers licence - the health adviser notes down the relevant number on your cert and signs with their name... They then tell you that if anyone questions validity they can contact Indigo to confirm that they have seen ID.
I retired when I sadly realised nobody wanted me!

Of course you have to be strict and insist that you not only see the certificate but the ID that proves that it is theirs.

Actually no-one bothers with the ID: they just look at the certificate. I don't know how common that is. I tend to shoot people I know so it isn't an issue but from what I hear people are slack generally about the detail of validating certificates.

I agree Jack and the same is true at Regents Private Clinic BUT as its not true of most hospitals etc it validates David's point...and one I agree with, plus the BAIHA tests are only good if EVERYONE insists on only accepting them and refuses to work with someone who has one and not a hospital test!
