The porn industry seems to view Viagra as an anti-Christ. Fine.
I may be useful if it is understood how Viagra works, and why it doesn?t.
The biggest sex organ we posses is the brain. Deep within our brain is a mass we inherited from our ancestors - long before Man and even before dinosaurs roamed the Earth. This Ancient Brain is responsible for control of all our basic function, including the most basic of all - Procreation.
When the brain perceives an opportunity to mate it sends a command which sets in train getting the body sex-ready. In the female this involves increased blood flow and size of the clit, labia and walls of the vagina, and production of that delicious lubrication stuff.
In the male it includes increasing blood flow to the penis, and production of pre-cum by the prostate gland.
The penis is a genius piece of structural engineering, and has three parallel spongy tubes running the length of it. As these fill with blood during arousal triggered by the Ancient Brain, they form a perfect three-member-column of increasing size and stiffness. There is no bone or muscle in the penis.
Viagra dilates the blood vessels feeding the penis, allowing increased blood flow to it WHEN THE BRAIN SAYS SO, and resulting increased stiffness and size.
Viagra does NOT guarantee "Wood" or make you more horny. Unless the Ancient Brain says "Erection please", no drug on earth will get you hard. You have to be mentally aroused for anything to happen - Viagra or not.
There is a good illustrative joke about this -
A guy obtains a tab of Viagra, takes it and phones his posh wife. He tells her to get to bed and be ready ?cause he has taken the little blue pill and will soon be home to give her A Good Seeing To.
She says "What a shame. No can do. Arranged to go shopping with Fiona", and flippantly adds "Why don?t you ask the au pair if she can help you out?".
Just before he slams down the phone he mutters "I don?t need Viagra for fucking the au pair!"

It surely illustrates the reverse of what you were saying. Viagra won't help with his wife. It probably would help on the second or third round with the au pair, when the spirit would be willing, but the flesh weak.
