Question for Jim Slip or Lara?

Why do you make content so hard to download? Slipting the video files into five or six parts take to long to watch or download and is a waste of time. Why can't it be done like Realcouples uk into two files, took almost two hours just to watch harmonyhex get slammed by you.

It did seem a little strange the last time i was a member. But the worst part of it was the security measures the site had, whereby so many connections to the site at once would block access for what seemed like 5 minutes.

I can understand the reasons for it, but at the time it meant if i clicked to watch a streaming video, then quickly stopped it and jumped to another, i would get blocked out. It also meant if i used firefox to bring up multiple pages (as tabs), i would also get blocked out. It was quite frustrating sometimes.

However that said, the content/speed and the video quality of the movies on there are some of the best ive seen from a site. So it was a small niggle.

The people who run the site decided that that is the way we should do it. Me and jim have no real decision over that bit.

it would be fanatastic to be able to have the films in one complete chunk as the earlier poster said the film quality etc is great and the intalments are the only drawback.

Its clever marketing!

When you can download the entire scene as soon as it is released you are more likely to notice the length of time until the next new video is available. Lets face it as soon as you have watched the new scene you are looking for the next new update...

I'm trying to get one of the techies from Holland to reply to this post, but in the meantime, we've had many discussions on this point in the past. I think its a question of trying to please everyone which is impossible. Jimslip.com is a very mainstream high quality site and the members all have varying broadband speeds.

Generally "Porn junkies" have very fast speeds, but there are plenty of people out there running on 1/2 meg or even less.

Also apparentely the Yanks are way behind us with their speeds. I can assure everyone that we don't segment the scenes for some "Cunning plan" or other plot.

I think it would be good that at the end of each week, you could hit a button and indeed download the whole lot in one go, but the boffins seem unconvinced.

Got help you all when the site has a HD option!!...................which will be happening in the not too distant future.

Hi there,

I am the manager of the (Dutch) company which does the Jim SLip website.
Jim and Lara provide us with the content and obvious enough have input on the site as well, BUT the decision on the 5 bits per film have been made by us only.
We have several reasons to do this:
1. We want to make the site usable for people with normal connections as well, the download of the big files would make this more difficult
2. To be honoust this is indeed a marketing thing as well, it makes people curious and let's them stay a member for a little bit longer.
3. A survey we did a while ago and again a shorter while ago told us that 80% prefers the films in chunks, because then you do not have to wait for a download to be finished or buffered.

It gives you the feeling that you are getting good value for your subscription as there is always something "new" on the site... even if it is just the next chunk of the scene.
Another subscription I have has recently been cancelled as there has not been an update for nearly 3 weeks!!
