Just wondering if anyone remembers a black model from the '70s
called Sylvia Bayo, aka Lucienne Camille.
I know she did a soft 8mm for Mayfair magazine and some other magazine shoots then nothing.
Just curious as to what happened to her or if she ever did any other work.
Even after 30 years she remains one of the most alluring women i think i have ever seen.

Re: Sylvia Bayo
I certainly remember her well! She had very long legs tapering off to very thin ankles. Huge nipples. And a pout that puts Sara Beattie's to shame! She did a lot of h/c layouts for Private Magazine and if I recall correctly, for a time she was the live in lover of that magazine's Founder and Publisher, Berth Milton. It must have been a pretty abusive relationship because the text that accompanied all of her appearances were very derogatory, referring to her ill-fitting wigs and thin ankles.
She slowly disappeared from view. One really wonders what happened to her. Do a Google and you'll find some interesting links. It would be interesting if someone could tell us what ever did happen to Sylvia.
For a trip down memory lane, check out this pic of her about three quarters the way down this page:

Oh, almost forgot. You can always start your search here at good old BGAFD!
Re: Sylvia Bayo
Many thanks for the info. I haven't seen any of her h/c sets but her s/c ones had a permanent effect on my teenage years.
Interesting that she was doing that and yet at the same time managing to get mainstream TV work like Up Pompei and The Chinese Detective.I hope she is well and happy and probably like Valerie Leon, Looks better now than she did then.
Still, It is intriguing how she disappeared from public view.

I remember Sylvia as the first black model whose name meant something. She appeared in loads of 8mm loops and turned up in loads of mag photoshoots then as you say disappeared, a bit like Amanda White more recently.
Another model from this period that I remember with affection is Peta Gareth anyone remember her? Surprised she dosn't seem to feature here as she was a frequent and enthusiastic participant in his hardcore loops, there is even one where she gives JL a blow job!

I heard Gentlemen, that she died. This news cropped up last year.
Re: Sylvia Bayo
Actually it was me who gave her this name when I done the photos for Mayfair back in the 1960's.Mayfair then adopted the name. She also appeared in those 'naughty' shows they put on at the London Whitehall Theatre at that period.
Re: Sylvia Bayo
On 19 October 2000 she appeared as a guest on the "Men and Motors" programme "Hot House" - back when M&M was a watchable channel.
She was instantly recognisable, the years had obviously been very kind to her.
TheProf reports her death.
I haven't heard about this before.
Is there any more information such as a date and cause?

I got the info from a very reliable source, a top ex-model agent.I believe this happened within the last year or so.That's all I know,John.
When I photographed her for "Mayfair" all those years ago she was living with her husband (?) over in London's Blackheath.
I'll see if I can check this out again. Her death was certainly mentioned to me though. The name clicked straight away.
