UK Porn Magazines

Post by davidapple »

Aaaaages ago, I'm sure that British porn mags like Razzle were more explicit. They don't show insertion any more do they? Has the UK law changed so that British magazines can't be as explicit as they were?

I would be interested in buying some back issues of Razzle but not if they're all censored. Does anyone know the dates at which the law changed and when British magazines changed?

Thanks,

As far as I'm aware Razzle never showed any insertions even after 2000. I can't really make a comment on what's occurring these days as I haven't bought a porn mag for 3 years.

I'm not sure exactly how the law stands on insertions. But the reason that high circulation mens mags like Razzle Club Fiesta etc dont and have never shown insertions within the magazines is because it would get them banned from the Top Shelf of most of the big newsagents. Major retailers like WH Smith will not allow mags with insertions on their shelves.

Most of the sets shot for razzle and several other mags are shot with insertions but these images are only used on their website, not in the magazine.

I see. Thanks for the info.

So are there any British magazines that do show insertions? I would imagine these are not sold at newsagents, only adult shops. And which ones are best?

PRO who publish Razzle to my knowledge never had penetration shots. Might be wrong but I don't think so. The reason was WH Smith and Menzies who distribute the mags to the shops would not approve the mags. Yes they approve every issue before they take them out.

Galaxy, Fiesta, Knave and other titles are in the same boat. But they used another distributor for their hardcore mags. Same reason Goldstar and David Sullivan used different distributors.

How do I know? I shoot for the mags. LOL

That's helped a lot. Thanks for all the info. So none of the UK Porn mags have insertions then? Only the websites.

No some UK mags do have insertion, or did, because we sold to them.

It's not just about putting it on the shelf, it's also about putting int on a van to take it to the shops.

I suspect the WH Smith decision was also based on sales. The lads mags sold more.

As Paul and I have already said. The reason there are no insertions is simply because the mags biggest clients would not stock them if there was.

PRP (club, escort etc) get round this with their website Galaxy (Fiesta etc) get round it by having seperate titles which they distribute to smaller newsagents etc who dont really care about content.

Like Paul, I shoot for these mags and nearly always they will prefer sets with insertions and a video clip if possible.

UK Porn Mags by law can't show any penitration of any sort (if sold through newsagents) they also can't show girls fingering their clit or anything like that. They all have to be dotted.

US magazines that feature this stuff are distributed by two different companies. One company sells the soft stuff and and the other the same magazine but with the hardcore section.
