Alec: A nerdy question

Just wondered why when someone posts it appears as an American date i.e. 01-04-02 instead of the British 04-01-02 and why the time never seems to refer to the actual post time. It is now 10.09 but the time on the board says

[alec]

Because the site is hosted in USA and the time and date will be taken from their server. But as to why their clock is 12 minutes slow, search me

[Mr Boring]
