Does anyone in here have a po box. I'm thinking of getting 1 i know it's ?52 a year but hust wanted to know how u collect your mail. Do u go to the sorting office an get the guy to open the box or do u do it yourself. I want a p.o box so i can collect my mail unseen. Thanks for any help.

They give you a sort of ID card which you show when you go to the Sorting Office to collect (as many times a day as you like, but remember a lot of the smaller offices close around lunchtime).
There's no box as such, it's just a pigeon-hole.
Also bear in mind that quite a few mail order companies are leery of delivering to PO boxes.

We use a PO Box and pay ?104 per year but this includes them delivering all mail to a specified address with your normal mail as and when it arrives at the sorting office.
The big benefit is I don't have to remember to go in to the sorting office to collect mail and, more importantly, I dont waste time calling in and checking when there is nothing there.

Jester go to royal mail web site number is there for u to ring. I need parcels delivered to a po box as i can't have them delivered at home any more. Can u fit a few vids in a po box.

If you got a lot of mail, the PHG would just stuff it all in a mailbag.
There's no limit to the amount of mail you can receive: some things (e.g. Blue Peter's Tracy Island offer) have been routed to PO Boxes, where the responses have been in the millions.
But for that volume I think a deal would have to be cut!!

There needs to be some clarification here.
As many vids as you like, if sent via the Royal Mail as LETTER PACKETS (which go either 1st/2nd class), will be routed to a PO Box, no problem.
If you receive items sent as PARCELS, on the other hand, these will go through the separate Parcelforce system and they MAY only deliver to a postal address, not a PO Box. To be sure, you'd need to check with Parcelforce.
This didn't apply in my PO days, as the two were then part of one service.
It is confusing, this distinction between what basically are big parcels and small ones, but it had its origins in the horrendous cost of sending heavy stuff at letter-post rates.
