Porn documentary tonight 9pm BBC3

Post by Porn Baron »

More bollox I expect?

New series. Actor Tyger Drew-Honey tours Britain to report on issues affecting young people. He begins by examining what impact unlimited access to pornography is having on society's youth, speaking to those who watch it and those who are part of the industry. He meets a woman who is paying for university with webcam performances, and also discovers how explicit content is influencing the sex lives of adults

I don't know if this guy will be able to give an objective account of the porn industry. His dad is the porn guy Ben Dover and his mum is the former porn model Linzi Drew.

Interesting programme...

Post by max_tranmere »

Just watched this, the guy presenting it did quite a good job. We learned that some people are properly addicted to porn and some have to go to support groups, it was also pointed out how some people become so used to the image of women that is conveyed by porn that they have difficulty relating to women in ordinary society as they are obviously different. The programme also stated that because of the free stuff on the internet the porn industry, as a money-making entity, is dying. It also pointed out how there is a dark-side to porn and how some guys are into the really sick stuff and expect women to do all that with them. Quite an interesting documentary and the presenter, even though his parents are pornstars, seems to have more of a negative view of it than a positive one - even going so far as to discourage an aspiring young man from getting into the business. What did other people think of the programme?

Objectively presented by an intelligent 18 year old with differing viewpoints presented with a good balance of seriousness and humour. The approach was much better than many other programmes that C4 and others have taken which have often been tittilation in awrapper ofsubtle condemnation.

It seemed to give quite a balanced view and was not, as you said, subtle titilation masquerading as an objective documentary. One thing that stood out was when that guy who was a recorvering porn addict, and had gone 550 days without viewing it (or jerking off) said he had moved on from porn but when one moves on they need to find something to do instead. He said one of things he now does is play keyboards. The kid doing the programme said: "so you swapped playing one organ for another?". The guy didn't find that funny! Oh well.

Great to see Linzi again..I had to watch her scene from "I luv Linzi 2" with Dragxia after that..does anyone know whether there is/was an uncut vesion of that scene anywhere (it looked heavily cut at the time)..shame she never filmed any scenes with Ben Dover - would've been unbelievable..i'm sure he must have some up his sleeve?!

Also interesting that from last night's show it sounded like Charmaine Sinclair used to spend some time round at Linzi & Ben's place..now a scene between her and Ben Dover would be off the scale...please make it happen someone!

I was mightily impressed with that programme too.

It was refreshing enough that it was objective but it clinched the deal in the admission that this porn debate is a complex one meaning it was generally regarded as the price of freedom with a few casualties but letsface it, statistics show if 100n people walked i a straight line then a small percentage will have some bad luck befall them so this is to be expected

Nice to see the opinion of discussion being used as an effective tool for educati the youth.

Porn is great for that quick itch you need to scratch but lets face it, real life is more complex with real feelings involved whe it comes to sex. The show didnt make out waking to be a sad thing either so points on the lad for that. In fact he seemed to embrace it with humour.

Goes to show a good doc can be done on the topic
