Before my extended holiday, I recall Woody asking for contributions from budding film reviewers. Did this ever take off or was it a great idea that came to nothing? If it did launch, can anyone put me in the right direction to read a few reviews?

well, it's not really a great idea because we have always been open to people forwarding their own contributions but it's true to say we want to encourage more participation by peeps like yourself, as the present rate of submissions is very poor indeed.

so if you're up for making a contribution you're more than welcome to give it a shot. the shows reviewed can be new or old and as long as the text is informative to the average reader and literate enough not to require major surgery before publication.

fwiw, reviews tend to fall into two camps: those that provide a fairly dry account of a films contents - postitions, settings, partneships, etc - and those which are more subjective and colourful in their use of language.

obviously we have THE final say on whether something sent to us is acceptable or not but our 'house' style is straightforward enough - constructive criticism whether positive or negative gets the thumbs up; abusive remarks and irrelevant personal prejudices gets the thumbs down.

Does this ONLY include British films or can it be an American film that features British girls? Just got hold of Ashley Long in 'Breaken' 'em in 2' (featured in your database) and I feel an artistic review coming up.

It can be any h/c film featuring British girls, but you don't have to review the scenes without British girls - unless you want to, of course - though it's a good idea to say who is in them at least.

I actually didnt mind that result as Liverpool got beat and I do want West Ham to stay up and Leeds to go down. If we draw or beat Liverpool next week, we go into Champions League (?15m guaranteed) Besides, I for one dont think Scousers should be in Europe.
