Re: british b movies of the 50s/60s
I know the type of films that you mean. They sometimes show them on ITV very late at night, and they tend not to be very long.
I remember one I saw that starred Harry H. Corbett as serial killer who preyed on pin-up/glamour girls.
Then there was another one that had Peter Vaughn as a miserly insurance investigater in it.
If you can't sleep at night, they can sometimes be a good watch.
I don't know if this is true or not but, I remember haering that that the "Carry on" films were kind of like B movies. They would support another film - the main feature, I suppose. I don't know if this is true, because I'm not old enough to remember. The strange thing is, I don't know anyone who actually saw a "Carry on" film in a cinema! Everyone I've spoken to has only ever seen them on TV.

The late Mr.Corbett's B-Movie...of 1959 was COVERGIRL KILLER...
Gave the opportunity to a lot of 'young actresses' of the time to appear in a film like this...never to be seen again. No,I don't mean being bumped off by the killer in the film...but in real life.

Re: british b movies of the 50s/60s
Hello to you too, Steve. Some of the old plays for the BBC were good, especially the spookier ones. "The Signal man" starring Denham Elliott was very good. Another good one was "A warning to the curious" which (I think) starred the aforementioned Peter Vaughn!

I saw Carry On Henry at the cinema in 1975. Dire like all the Carry On films. The British Film industry was put back 20 years with this bilge.

I know what you mean, Ace. Just think of the movies the company's could have made, instead.
Mind you, I always laugh when I hear Sid James (In "Henry") say:
"Of course, I've got the biggest swan in the country."
And how about the "Wrong doings" gag?

I don't know. That's just one of my senseless, incoherent musings.
