Chelsea FC Sold to a Russian Billionaire

Post by buttsie »

Makes me sick to the stomach to think that 1 individual can accumulate so much wealth in a struggling country

Maybe the West should stop sending aid tomorrow
so people of this ilk start investing their ill gotten gains back into their own country

Privatisation....What a success!!!!!

cheers

No wonder Bates sucked up to him. Is Zola on his way out or what?

Zola has gone to Calgiari as we speak.

Anyway surely this Russian cannot be any slimier than Ken The Master Bates?

I wonder if this means normal working folk, not just city types and celebs will able to afford to get into Stamford Bridge now?

Also will it be beetroot juice and borsch intead of pies and oxo?

Chelsea fans wont complain how he amassed his cash, as long as they succeed on the pitch. The whole thing stinks.

Alas the man on the terrace still sees soccer/football as sport where as in reality its all cold hearted business

If Chelsea finish 3rd and still can't turn a profit you know somethings got to change or the consequences could be dire

Wouldn't surprise me if a few eventually fold for good

I used to go to The Shed end as a lad, first saw them in 1972, and when we emigrated, thought I would lose touch all together, but always supported them, even through 2 relegations and crap managers.
The 'real fan' is no longer wanted by huge clubs, only sponsors and rich season ticket holders need apply. It IS killing the game I love, and I don't care if CFC have been brought by a Russian, I will support them always...........BUT, if some American company brought them, I would switch to QPR.
As for Franco leaving, it brought a tear to lots of neutral fans who genuinely liked this Italian maestro. For every Franco Zola who plys his trade in England, there are 30 'Johnny Foreigners' who are here for the money and don't give a piss about the shirt they wear.
