Chris, once a week or so, I'll do my computer "house cleaning" and delete cookies, files and history trail. However, even though I clear my history trail, everytime I try writing a web address that begins with the letter "t", the following address pops up and enters itself in the address window: www.theguyinthecorner.co.uk/sites/www/CornishChriscouk.
How do I get rid of it?
Thanks.
Dennis
PS: I'm running XP
Tech question for Cornish Chris or anyone
Re: Tech question for Cornish Chris or anyone
Dennis, I'm sure it's nothing to do with CC's site. I have the same on my PC with URL's beginning with 'b' and 'c', but no other letters.. Windows XP also. Does anyone have Bill Gate's phone number?
Re: Tech question for Cornish Chris or anyone
assuming you use internet explorer, go to: Tools/Internet Options/Content/AutoComplete and untick the box for web addresses.
Re: Tech question for Cornish Chris or anyone
Thanks Woody. Yes, it's definitely an auto-complete (AC) thingy and un-ticking the box does the trick. However, I find AC to be a useful function of IE and would rather rather leave it on. The question really is - why does clearing the AC history blitz most of the addresses in Winders XP but leaves some others?
Has Bill Gates registered with BGAFD yet?

Also to add to Woody,s sage advice, when you delete cookies, delete all temporary files and off-line content, this should do the trick, if it doesn,t I,ll show someone else,s arse in Burtons window....
