AOL problems

Post by crofter »

any AOL users having problems with sending and receiving messages at the moment, system errors, bounced emails??
also when I went on to the AOl Tech Chat, that was not much better, I ask a question and a completely different question comes up which is seemingly being sent from me, almost feels like someone is extracting my urine??
.... I haven?t been drinking either ... yet

PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?

fwiw, the only glitch we've encountered implementing the forum registrations scheme has been aol related, with a lot of it's users not receiving their passwords.

i fail to understand why this should be so - all registration does is generate a plain text email containing the relevant info - but it's certainly the case...

AOL IS THE SPAWN OF SATAN.

They really are a pile of poop and cause nothing but headaches for web developers.

If you try to send an email to an AOL account via a Coldfusion script it will randomly not deliver the email as it considers anything sent via CF as spam (because it adds an additional mail header it can read the mail has come from a CF mail server).

Also AOL does a reverse DNS scan on your mail server. No reverse DNS entry and your mail will likely get deleted - what a pain in the arse!!

There is more help Woody at if you really want to sort it out for AOL users. My advice would be to change to a proper ISP

Cheers

I have to agree with Paul AOL is the biggest pile of shite you could ever use what aol won't tell you is that it uses up alot of your system resources, trust me i was a beta tester for AOL 7.0 and AOL 8.0 dial up service not broadband once you install aol on your pc hard to get it off, ok but when i did use it i found customer services to be great and answer any problems i had with it's service ,rather prefer to talk to a person verbally never used there tech chat room alway rung up the freephone telephone number.

Also see BT have merged with Yahoo big mistake takes me forever to access my account on yahoo now compared to before.

Doesn't need aol no more has broadband no more dial up!!
