Stud Hunt - Market Research. :-)

Post by Wendy »

Hi,

As some of you probably already know I've started my own productions which will go before the bbfc for R18 certification. One of them is 'Wendy's Stud Hunt' and you should find a draft of the box-cover below.

I'd be really interested in what people think. Do you like it? Would you buy the video? Should the box-cover include more hardcore pics?

OK so I'm after some free market research and I hope you don't mind but I really would value your opinions.

Thanks

Wendy XXX

Wendy,

Congrats on your new production company!! You know I will be one of your first paying customers!!! And thanks for letting me be in one of YOUR films for a change. ;-) The orgy video last weekend was outstanding!!

May you and your new company have all the greatest success!!

For what it's worth, I like it: it's understated, colourful but not garish, and the small pics give a fair idea of the content (hopefully!!).
Then again, I'm biased. :-))

too many different typefaces

the text down the spine ('wendy's stud hunt') could do with either drop shadow or black outline.

I assume that the cover (you in soap action) is the softcore and the left side is the hardcore side? That's good for display.

'The next one could be you!' could possibly be emphasised more( either increase type size and/or add shadow effects)

I would emphasise 'Wendy Taylor' text near boob (you are the main star?)

The other dilema: Put it into DS shops and get it sold in great quantities but only get paid under ?5/tape or sell it elsewhere and make more money per tape but sell a lesser quantity?

Type line 7 "is" should be "his"

Also you repeat the phrase "finally gives in" twice within two sentences of each other. I'd change the second one to "eventually gives in" if it doesn't interfere with the formatting.

I agree that you need to do something to the text on the spine - black drop shadow or outline (for the sake of continuity it would probably be best to do the same where the same text appears on the cover).

definately should change the brush script typeface on the spine and front, a bit tricky to read, should really be more of an emphasis on the fact that they are supposed to be ordinary guys getting it on with Britains Top Porn Star, this should really take centre stage on the front cover, instead of the emphasis on it being your production, you are trying to sell this actual video not advertising your production company, one last thing for continuity you have the name George on the back cover and on the front it appears as Jorge, should also have h/c snapshots on the front to make the point that it is h/c.

Fantastic stuff Wendy, great idea and I hope that there is more to cum!
Our own Nici Stirling has also done some films of this theme, with the fans, but not many others. I think you are on to a winner. My only hope is that you release it as a full uncut hardcore version as well, somewhere, as well as the R18 version.
I like the cover, you look fantastic!

Love Richard xx

last but 1 paragraph - line'His dreams come true as he fucks Wendy' , the 'he' doesn't line up with the lefthand side.

I don't agree that there are too many typefaces as when it's on the box you will be looking only at one side at a time and I don't think the logo should be included in the typeface count anyway.
