During the recent state visit, George Bush is having breakfast with the Queen. He's complaining about how little respect he, and the nation he represents, gets from the rest of the world.

"As I'm the president, I'm thinking of changing how my country is referred to----and from now on the United States is going to be a kingdom!"

The Queen shakes her head, and says, "I'm sorry Mr Bush, but to be a kingdom, you have to have a king in charge--- and you're not a king."

Bush thinks long and hard, then says, "How about a principality then?"

"Again, to be a principality you have to be a prince---and you're not a prince, Mr Bush."

Dubya sits in quiet contemplation for a while, then clicks his fingers and says, "What about an empire then?"

The Queen is getting a little hacked off by now. "Mr Bush, in order to be an empire, the United States would have to have an emperor in charge. You are not an emperor."

Before he could utter another word, the Queen said, "Anyway, I think you're doing quite nicely as a country."

I can't authenticate the following but its a nice story anyway.
On hearing that the President's entourage for the visit to the UK included 3 chefs, a reporter queried this. The official response was that the Prez might feel like a midnight snack.

Yet again Bimmercat can't distinguish between criticism of his present government and his country. Still he has already told us that all these critics ought to leave the US. A remarkable display of the renowned American tolerance for other points of view.

Respect is something that has to be earned...it can't be bought

George Bush thumbing his nose at the United Nations and invading Iraq
shows all to clearly how he feels about the rest of the world

and then to have the gall to ask other nations to join in the rebuilding shows a distinct lack of BRAINS

I'm with you Bimmercat...America should stop giving foreign aid,remove all its military World Wide and above all else take all is Good Corporate Citizens/Companies which are strangling other countries dry HOME

Then lets see how well Wall street would be

Americas Eonomy is built on the back of the Rest of the World IMHO

People head to the US of A for the simple reason its a tolerant democratic society which welcomes immigrants and it also has the worlds biggest economy bar none

Even with an Arrogant Administration in charge its still a land of opportunity
for most

I say all Foreign Corporations should return home

Sure there would be initial pain but then what did these countries do before
these Corporations came?

Agriculture I'm guessing

Economies which actually fed and produced goods for the consumption of their own populations rather than exporting to pay back the World banks


I don't see them as evil jsut misguided in their chase for the stretch profit so they get their yearly bonus

All Multi-Nationals are far to big & powerful for their own good

Governments rarely lock horns with them for they know that to do so would only waste the publics money in long drawn out legal battles

You need look no further than what they have done to small business over the past 20 years through various unethical but legal methods

In Australia small business is slowly losing its market share to the Big Corporations.The Huge Shopping Centres are a classic example...charging rents like wounded bulls,taking 20% of the profits as opposed to 10% ten years ago

Non-renewal of your lease at a whim even if your business is successful
Seen this happen on numerous occasions
