Euphamisms

Post by angus young »

Been watching a lot of The Golf Channel (Sky 429) lately and they have a wonderful way of announcing a program that has been on before.
"The following is an encore presentation"
Sounds a lot better than 'repeat' or 'another chance to see'
I reckon that their presenter Kelly Tilghman (Academy Live) is one of the sexiest babes on TV.

Perhaps the Beeb ought to offer 'repeat fees' in reverse- such that every time they show one, we get 50p off our Licence Fee.
They can easily afford it with all the Labour-induced job-cuts they're having at the mo..........

I think Euphemism is the wrong word to use in this context.
