the bill

anyone else agree how poor the bill has become lately? just watched an episode from couple of years ago when Conway was murdered and it made me realise how much better the show was then!

I actually think it is much better these days. It was in the past undoubtably more realistic but it's more entertaining now. Probably the tv soap that has gone downhill recently is Eastenders, although it can be amusing to speculate which member of the cast will leave next and turn up in The Bill.

Realism has certainly long gone. Some of the storylines can still grip, and the occasional concentration on the victims of a crime, rather than which copper is shagging which, still has the ability to move you.

As has been pointed out before, though, with the amount of dead coppers from that station (not to mention a proportion of killers within their ranks), who in their right mind would want a transfer to Sun Hill?

The only two from the original Woodentops pilot are Carver and Ackland. Hollis has been there from virtually the start.
