As long as it doesn't affect me.

So you can nail your bollocks to the door as long as you don't use my income tax to repair you at casualty, and you can hack your leg off as long as you don't expect my income tax to pay for disability benefit.
We have need of you again, great king.

English law is very inconsistent regarding consent. In the case of 'Operation Spanner', where a group of masochists were prosecuted for assaulting one another, the House of Lords ruled that no one could consent to an assault. This seems to me to be irrational. Taken to its logical conclusion boxing must be illegal. I do not advocate that boxing is banned, just pointing out the inconsistencies.

Yes, regarding the 'Operation Spanner' case, that decision was total bollocks. Their Lordships clearly let their innate conservatism (with a small 'c') and bigotry get in the way of a rational and objective judgment. Total and utter bollocks, a bad decision.

As long as your harming no one but yourself or someone who has consented to be harmed then the state has no business dictating how you should act in private

Classic case was the German Guy who consented to being chopped up and being eaten

No ones business but his and the Cannibals

We might not condone it and find it disgusting and not particularly logical but ITS NONE OF OUR BUSINESS

I cannot agree with you on this one Deuce. The German who ate the volunteer should have been convicted of murder. Clearly the other person was mad and therefore incapable of giving consent, therefore the killing was murder. I know this goes against what I said earlier about Operation Spanner, but it is a question of degrees. I think the German case set an unfortunate precedent.

Mad most likely but how would you prove it in a court of law?

Suicidal possibly but again how would you prove it?

Thats probably why the authorities let it go but I'm betting legislation
outlawing cannibalism might well be in the pipeline

Real life is stranger than fiction

I know this can be difficult Deuce, but volunteering to be killed in extremely painful circumstances and then eaten, is surely enough to get anyone sectioned!

Perhaps the rules in Germany are different. In the UK I think risk of harming yourself or others is grounds for sectioning.
