Acorrding to the radiowhen he was at channel 4 he commissioned Trainspotting and 4 weddings, and brough Friends to the UK. Also, when he was on room 101 I thought he was superb and i agreed with everything he said although I thought he had already been top dog at the bbc, oh well. Got my vote Does anyone thing that ?80,000 a year for that position seems quite "low" considering the over inflated salaries in the media world.

Yes it does, but, like a PM, I imagine the it's other 'opportunities' after his tenure that really pay off.
