ok the machines are cheap and cheerfull but the prices on the dvds discs are xpensive to say the least and as for ebay surely they are joking 2nd hand dvds sets for 50?.

On Amazon you can buy a region free Yamada DVD player for 34 quid with free delivery .

but the average cost of a mainstream dvd is 15 quid and I have been asked for 35 quid and more for porn ..... someone must be creaming it , as the pound shop in town sells Kung fu dvd's for a quid !!!

As for DVDs being expensive...pish posh...I've got 3 cut throat outlets near me that sell dvds from a pound to whatever

The DVD's cost them pennies to produce, but somewhere down the line the price gets VASTLY INFLATED.

It depends on what you buy and where. Check out the Amazons, Black Stars, Play.com and Bensons World sites and you'll pick up some good bargains. It's worth shopping around because, with box sets, there can be up to ?30 difference between some of the sites.

Worth noting that a number of titles are no more expensive than their video equivalent and come with extras that enhance the watching experience, not to mention the crystal-clear picture (even on freeze-frame, Steve) and good sound quality. Home movie watching as it should be.

I for one won't miss the grainy, shadowy videos.

I have to agree with you Steve on this one. Certainly if I had no interest in porn I wouldn't go down the dvd road. My vhs and sky+ systems are certainly good enough for recording broadcasts. I do not particularly like the modern cinema, and the odd film I want to see, I can go to the cinema.

well yesterday afternoon i finally got the 3 ben dover vids back from a neighbour hes had these since august 03,now he says he wasnt that impressed i shant be lending him any more.

Loaning out porn isn't a good idea. I loaned some of my best stuff to a friend years ago, he loaned it on to someone else without my consent. This chap, who I wouldn't lend a 10 bob note to, 'mislaid them'. They were classic stuff from the seventies and virtually irreplacable. Thanks to the kindness of people involved with these forums I have new copies of a couple, but I hold out no hope for the others. No, best to keep it to yourself.
