Is he the greatest wanker alive? On my tosser list he rates above even Blair, Bush, Prescott and Timberlake.
He gets ?1m a year for talking pure drivel. I also reckon he wanks over a picture of Man Utd...........
I recall a Sky magazine from last year when he was described as a "Scottish football legend". Eh?
Also he lives will Suzanne Dando the rather fit ex gymnast so another reason to hate him!

Re: Andy Gray on Sky
I have to agree.
In the distant past (BSE - Before the Sky Era) friends said that one of the great bonuses of having live football on Sky was the wisdom of Andy Gray. He was supposed to be the pundit's pundit.
That ?1m must be the easiest money earnt anywhere and one reason why I'm tempted to give up the subscription, and we have it mainly for the football and cricket.
Andy Gray substitutes excitement and enthusiasm for any insight ; since when has he or the vast majority of 'experts' really enlightened your view of a match ? Exactly - never. They're just there to fill in the space. Gray's monotone gutteral delivery of the completely bleedin' obvious bores me witless. He and the rest of Sky cower and toady before the great God called the Premiership. There's no debate, no challenge, no original thought.
Though, strange to tell he wasn't half as bad when he worked for Radio 5 during the 2002 World Cup. As a lifelong United supporter, I don't detect any particular bias. But maybe it's because I've given up listening to him and the truly awful Martin Tyler, who is humanoid mogadon. Listen to the radio, even with the time delay.
On the tv, I think there's only one person worth listening to : Rodney Marsh. He's arrogant and opinionated but at least he's got a brain. And he'll say what he thinks. The rest are merely recycling old redtop headlines. On ITV's pisspoor 'Premiership', again only Andy Townsend has the makings of a half-decent pundit. Ally McCoist !?
For me there is one expert who really does inform me about the game. I think Jimmy Armfield on Radio 5 is superb ; he knows the game inside out and has put his great knowledge and experience to intelligent use.
Sad old gits like me still pine for the return of something like the great 1970 and 1974 ITV World Cup panels. Cloughie, Doog, Paddy Crerand, Joe Mercer, steve56 (sorry Ron Manager). Happy days !

Re: Andy Gray on Sky
It is quite reasonable to argue whether it is necessary to employ anyone to perform the function that Andy Gray does on Sky. However, if you do want this function fulfilled, I believe Andy Gray is quite good at it. Although whether he is worth a million quid p.a. is another matter.
Re: Andy Gray on Sky
Wanks over pictures of Everton cos he loves `em to death and ABSOLUTELY hates it when my beloved Liverpool (YNWA) beats `em at Goodison Park.

A nosher who at least ADMITTED he isn't cut out to manage a football team after Big Rons #2 at Villa.
I perfer Gray to Hanson/Lawrenson. Nice to see Andy Townshend get a mention, he really IS a good pundit

Re: Live Tyler
WB - Your punditry critique excels, and yet Jimmy Armfield, lovely as he is, always sounds like he's broadcasting through a timewarp from the 1950's. His voice invokes Bovril, misty grounds, freezing knees, the real game.......and I wasn't even born then. And though Tyler can bore, there was no-one who could put the kybosh on an exciting match more firmly than Trevor 'tranquilliser dart' Brooking, surely?
