I would rate Gullit, Mattheus, Beckenbaur and Zola over Zidane. Polls are shite, MUFC voted Cantona as their best ever player over Best, Charlton and Edwards.............probably because he is still fresh in peoples minds.
However, Chelsea got it right when we voted Zola as our best ever player

You might well argue that Don bradman is the best cricketer

Michael Jordan the best basketballer

But thats just a subjective call

Comparing players from different eras is pointless

Its like if you were to try and pick the best 11 English cricketers of all time
some fools would have them all 11 coming from the same County(not mentioning any names to avoid a bloodbath)
