David Beckham.....again!!

Post by Ace »

I read today that the REAL reason Becks shaved his flowing locks off was that someone told his wife she would look VERY sexy if she shaved her twat.

Aw fuck ya then!!!!

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

As a Chelsea fan I'm in two minds...

We need a right sided midfield player who can cross the ball.
We need someone who can consistently take good corners.
We need someone who is a dead ball specialist.
We need someone who, with one pass, can nulify the opposition's defence.

This season we have probably dropped at least 6-9 points because of the lack of a player capable of doing these things. Duff (and from next season, Robben) can terrorise defences down the left flank when fit, but Gronkjaer, while quick, so often fails to cross acurately from either left or right flank. Had he had better service from the wings, I think Crespo would have had more goals to his tally this season. Veron and Joe Cole can both "unlock" a defence, but the former has been injured for much of the season while the latter has been so under-used that he has been, at best, inconsistent when he has played. Mutu and Geremi can both score from free kicks but not with the consistency that Beckham achieves. None of our corner kick takers have consistently put the opposition under pressure time after time during the course of a game.

To use common parlance, Beckham ticks all the boxes.

The one thing we don't need is the media circus that follows the Beckhams.

I would also like to see a continuation in the "youth" policy... if we do buy, then buy someone young with great potential rather than someone in their late twenties. I'd love to see Joaquin or Ricardo Quaresma... but Beckham will do!

But what could be better than sitting down with a few beers to watch a game and instead of the boys playing, the camera just films Posh pouting for 90 mins ...... with no half time ....

Good post Bob, and business wise, Kenyon has a coup if he pulls it off, but I would rather see Stevie Gerrard come to The Bridge. I know he doesn't fit the criteria you and all of us want, but at least you don't get the media circus that follows The Beckhams.

There are certain players I just can't ever see moving clubs, and Steve Gerrard is one of them. Even if Liverpool got relegated he'd still stay at Anfield... it's in his blood.

Others on that list are Henry and Viera at Arsenal, and our very own John Terry. Somehow I can't see any of them playing for someone else.

But yes, Gerrard and Lamps in central midfield... I could live with that... especially with Duff and Joaquin on the wings! :o)
