Is Bimmercat ashamed........

Post by mart »

to show his face on this forum? I know I feel let down if the British troops antics in Iraq are true and I did not even support bloody Blair in the first place.

More likely, he's on holiday with the strife and saucepans, or something.
And, as you say, we may well be in no position to cast aspersions in this case.

"I had no crystal ball and could forsee the disasterous turn all of this has taken...could you? of course not".
Errr......well yes, some of us repeatedly said that it would turn out to be a disaster, right from the start.

"My reasons for wanting to take out Saddam were based on logic......
Really?
"......Saddam had harboured terrorist criminals....and ...violated UN mandates in the past .."
As have/had Israel, and dozens of other nations- so why single out Iraq for special attention? It hardly seems logical.

It's hardly HIS fault that someone raised the issue again (it has never really gone away though, has it?)- but that doesn't excuse his poor defence of Bush's actions above.
The problem, of course, is that there IS no defence.

"Israel had nothing to do with Islamic extremists that have bombed our embassies, blew holes in our ship in a foreign port and rammed three planes into our buildings, killing thousands of innocent people...have they"
?
And neither did Sadaam- that was Al-Qaeeda and other fundamentalist groups...... terrifyingly, 75% of US polled recently, still believed Sadaam was linked to Al-Qaeeda, when in fact he hated them royally, rightly regarding them as a threat to his secularist state.
Because the US does nothing to rein them in, the Israelis feel free to terrorise and deport people who have a legitimate right to live where they were born, and to indulge in pre-emptive warfare (now where did they learn that trick? Or was it the other way round?).
It's good that you're not worried about Israelis blowing up YOUR countrymen- what moral relativism! So they can blow up anyone else they like, that's OK.......so I don't mind anyone who blows you up because you don't care who blows ME up, is that how it works?
Partly at least, Iraq is payback for Daddy Bush, partly a wounded animal striking out by reflex.....although carefully enough to choose a soft target.
N Korea? US scared shitless of China getting involved. Africa? Fuck 'em, who cares if they die by the million, piss-ant continent- nice diamonds, though, we'll suck up to a few nasty little dictators for a slice of THAT action........ Indonesia? Too far away, important trading partner, would piss-off India/China. US foreign policy is loathsomely cynical in its choice of victim.
Like Kissinger before them, Rumsfeld, Rice et al ought to be prosecuted for War Crimes (Bush I excuse as being clearly non compos mentis), and to personally apologise to the American families whose sons and and daughters' lives they have so criminally wasted. The instigation of warfare on a whim is unforgiveable. Even worse than unfair trade deals that pauperise entire continents to keep people in burgers............
