As our resident expert on nasties, the computer type not vids, do you ever get a strange anti-virus warning when running Adaware?
Every time I run it, I get several warnings from AVG about bugs in Lavasoft (which is, of course, Adaware). But when I scan Lavasoft with AVG nothing shows up.
Perhaps its just some sort of quirky software conflict.

I only ever ran AVG for a small time as I found its updating system archaic
compared to anti-norton

More than likely its a software conflict between the 2 programs
as you say.if you do a search on google.com "avg" adaware conflicts
you'll find a plethora of postings

The other possibility is that the word adaware is just coincidental
Not meaning the adaware program at all but spyware

The only people that will be able to tell you for sure are either the makers of adaware or avg...maybe posting on either of their forums will be fruitful

Entirely opposite experience with Norton and AVG. I gave up on Norton because it was consistently playing up about downloading updates.
No, its not a coincidence about Adaware, AVG specifically gives the warning referring to Lavasoft.

I found when I used Zone Alarm Pro that Adaware never detected anything
but when I ran the free version it detected various items-all of low grade I might add

I think anti-virus software & firewalls are far more important to security than spyware removal programs like adaware given that its reactionary

Programs like Spyblaster,IE-Spyad,Spybots-Immunise Section are far more effective IMHO

Then theres the other downside to adaware-it deletes what it finds which could easily result in downloaded software not working-where as spybot neutralises the threat

I'm about the delete Adaware and just run Spybot & CW Shredder
funnily enough

I'm sure this run with uptodate anti-virus & a decent firewall should should be enough
