Well, as he played for Monaco under Wegner in his career, and likes the ball passed about rather than hoofing it, I'd say he was qualified...........but sure Houllier might get another shot...........famous for calling one of the French players a 'traitor' when France missed out in 1994 because of a bad pass let Bulgaria score and qualify

Think it was Cantona who misplaced that pass - and never played for France again.

Houllier would be the obvious choice, although Hoddle with his French connections and previous experience as England manager isn't such an odd candidate as people think.

iirc, in the dying seconds of the game, ginola crossed the ball from the by-line instead of killing time by taking the ball to the corner flag, thus allowing the bulgarians to break up field to score the killer goal.
