RRP for adult stuff

Post by stephen (N.I.) »

i noticed an earlier post regarding copyrights.
it could be argued that the high prices punters are charged causes the piracy.
why don`t uk producers print rrp onto their products?
i notice Private mags and videos in Spain have pre printed prices
and if you where to convert these prices to GBP they compare nothing to what retailers are actually charging?
any thoughts

btw i do not agree with the theft of copyrighted material

I think you might find RRP is now not allowed, maybe, best way is buy direct from producers and the money goes back into production (or booze)

Theft of copyrighted material, I agree it's wrong. I guess the problem is with the UK censorship laws. Material is not widely avaiable in the UK therefore pushing up the price. If porn could be produced and distribted without having to be watched and passed "R18" by the BBFC, or be illegal the cost would reduce.

Any thought's ?

David,,, thanks it is wrong to pirate, the BBFC play an important role and have for many years served the average consumer well, there stand on porn has been tough and wrong but I feel they have at least be honest about where they stand. I believe we have to have some sort of censorship I dont want to live in a Amsterdam or New York. Anyone who thinks these kind of place with there more open access to harder porn is a cool place to live is living in LaLa land. Porn in Holland is run by a few very very hard outfits, they tend to also own saunas, brothels etc. I had meetings there last year and everyone carried fireams, CS, worse (me too)etc, etc
This is not what we want in the UK we have had a reputation world wide as being a bit better than all that and long may it continue. The answer as I have said before is very easy, remove 18R it is out of date, you are either 18 or you are not and a guy who works in an off-licence can tell that, make the covers suitable for sale in a newsagents like hard-core magazine and the whole problem is solved,

An simple, but excellent idea - as most of the best ideas are. Problem is the poncy polititians are frightend of the (one days) slagging they would get from 'The Mail' and maybe a bit of flack from their miserable, middleclass, backbench, Gaurdian reading 'wimmin's' groups.

T' fuck with all enemies of freedom!
