While on going Public Humiliation might seem to be a good idea
it could easily be counter productive
As for saving money I've always been of the view that incarcerating people is comparable to giving someone a hotel room with room service for free
Sure you lose your freedom and are in an enviroment that any logical individual would choose to avoid but it costs Society Big Time money wise

Did you know that recent cases of wrongful imprisonment in the UK where damages have been awarded have had deductions made for the cost of board and lodgings.
