Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas

Post by IdolDroog »

OK I know no one on here is interested and most probably hate the games, but i need to vent.....im SO disappointed. The series so far have been a big part of my youth and growing up, each game improving significantly on the previous. Until this. The cars are fucking shit slow and the handlings ridiculous, itll skid going around any corner at ne speed and spin out easily. The missions seem a little unreasonable, and by that i dont mean difficult as such but just ....well, unreasonable its like you dont stand a chance. Everyone seems to be ranting and raving how superb it is but im really let down by it SO FAR and can't see it changing too much as ive had it since Thursday....really gutting waiting like 18 months for this :(

The danger is in expecting too much of anything after waiting a long time. Readers had to wait almost 10 years for Thomas Harris's follow-up to The Silence Of The Lambs, and when it did arrive (Hannibal) it was utter shite.

I couldn't believe it when Rob Base "It takes two" came on the radio in the game, hadn't heard that for years, reminds me of the Berwick manor (Essex) back in the day on a Thursday night disco! happy days!

Hey Dace
Yeh I started again from scratch and its proven a good idea.
I still maintain the driving is poor compared to previous GTA games where you could driven like a serious professional race driver dodging between cars and road furniture. Now all you need is a tiny tap and you're off in a spin!
My compaints really are these though

a) the police are activated far too easily and theres a lot of them!

b) the auto target is shit, just a moment ago i was standing next to someone shooting me and it autotargetting a civilian miles down the fucking street! Suffice to say my character was killed.

c) The seems to be some problem with the triangle button not triggering the "exit vehicle" motion. Its not my controller i think its just fucking slow in the game and thus i sometimes have to press 3 times before anything happens....not good prospect if its about to blow up.

d) Theres a mission nearish the beginning where you have to chase some gay bloke on a motorbike with your friend riding pillion. The chase itself proved impossible without altering the camera angle but my grind was with the part after the chase where you reach the enemies to kill....i stepped up and fired two shots in their direction and my "friend" turned around and gunned me down dead....what the fuck ?!?

Still not sure what I think about the non-italian theme of the game as all the other GTAs have been, hopefully GTA 4 will return to that format although by far and away the best thing is the soundtrack on Radio X : Guns N Roses, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and Faith No More....my fav 4 bands :D sooo cool, and surprising they put them on there really....soundgarden and alice in chains always been underappreciated in that kinda way. Its strange though cos the 2 albums i listened to solidly whilst playing Vice City was Faith No More's Angel Dust and Stone Temple Pilots debut.....both with songs on this game .... :)

wow thats a lotta writing, sorry

Maybe the characters are just reflecting likely characteristics of criminal gang members...drug effected?

But I bet your not experiencing the same difficulties as those attemting to play

Tetanus on Drugs-tetris...does your eyes in first and then your head

or looking blindly like this rather well known fool is doing

just scroll down-you can't miss him

cheers

I agree Idol - its starting to get on my nerves that the hospital kicks you out right in the miiddle of the rival gang area !
Also there don't seem to be the taxis to take you back to your mission after you get wasted?

Arnold, the game has got some classic tunes on there, just like vice city ! Like the Soul station myself
