My AVG virus scan tells me that I've got 3 infections of Java/ByteVerify but doesn't tell me how to deal with them. Anybody got any suggestions?

Thnks Deuce. That second link goes on and on.
It looks like theres now a newer version of free AVG . Why isn't life simpler?

Like any solution everybody has a different take as we're all using different machines.

Life is simple but only when your computer is turned off IMHO

Start up google (www.google.co.uk)

Search for the viris names, or "PC security"

Follow the instructions given on the official sites (symantec etc)

Not difficult

I used HouseCall from Trendmicro to do another scan. It found 4 non-cleanable infected file and deleted them.
I don't understand why AVG didn't alert me.

Most likely because they never existed IMHO

Spybot has been picking up DSO Exploit on my computer for the past 3 months, fixing it and then finding it next time its run...false positive

Adaware on the other hand doesn't because it doesn't exist, its just an aberration due to something in the program itself
