Only because there is no subtlety in spoken or written English anymore. Even words like "could" and "would" seem to have fallen by the wayside. My only regret is that people who probably have real and valid ideas that they would like (oops, there was one ) to share with the rest of the English speaking world are frustrated because their attempts to put them across genuinely make no sense. See the forum for as many examples as you could wish for.

No wonder people get frustrated and reckon that the only way that they are ever going to make a mark on the world around them is to spray paint their "tag" onto every flat white surface in town!

And I know that starting a sentence with a conjunction is frowned upon in erudite circles! ( Get your dictionary out Revo, you'll find erudite in there somewhere.
