Queen! And any others inducted into a 'Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.' As I said in a previous post "Fuck em."

As some wise soul recently said

"One mans gold is another mans poison"

I'm sure to the loyal fans of the 4 bands, their not overrated

No matter how small the following

One should never forget the power of Marketing

What would Spandau Ballet(best dressed) & Devo(plastic Pot Plants r Us) have been without the Hype?

cheers

I forgot the Police (Sting makes me want to throw things). I'm going now for a nice cup of tea & a quiet lie down before I get too stressed & angry!

I am pretty partial to Joy Division and dig a lot of Depeche Mode too so I personally disagree. I can't see what all the fuss is about regarding the likes of Franz Ferdinand and The Strokes, The Hives etc.

I'm a bedwetter, so I'll have nowt said against 'The Smiths.' Still rate Moz as one of the best live performers I've seen...if you're into his thing.

The most over-rated band in the universe has to be 'U2', the ultimate in pompous hollowness. Devoid of style, substance, or attitude,
fronted by a total tool dining out on being 'an ordinary Oirish bloke', and with an old dosser on lead guitar..'The Edge', I ask you? I had the misfortune to be dragged to one of their gigs by an ex, and endured 'anthem' after 'anthem' in a crapulous set, from what is basically a pub band with some nice technology. It was about as stimulating an experience as listening to paint dry. In fact, though, I owe them one, because the ex loved it which proved to me she was indeed deranged, and therefore had to go. You can slate 'The Clash' all you want, (although why would you want?), but by cracky you knew you were at a gig when you went to one of theirs.

Second most over-rated band? 'Oasis'. Knuckle dragging, lyrically-impoverished, Status Quo tribute band. The only thing in their favour is their equal opportunities policy of employing hairy dwarves as front men.

Damn this feels good! Share the hate! I'll stop now, before I come across as obsessive.

You & I are cut from the same cloth chatterji. If it wasn't so poncey, I'd suggest that we form a support group to calm ourselves down and talk through our issues.

There's some strong competition: Nick Cave, Van Morrison, The Stone Roses, Abba, Blur, The Cure, The Eagles.....

....but the winner is Bob Dylan.
