The most relevant thing is what security were you using?
Even on a so called clean P2P theres likely to be some asshole looking to infect others
Firewall
anti-virus
spyware/malware blocking programs

Your right thats a nasty piece of work...explains the rating of 7 and why it can only be manually removed
I'd be looking for a P2P specific firewall(for real time protection) like Peer Guardian or Protowall
They both come with a list of black listed IPs
Also spyware guard if the same one I used to have has definitions dated 1.1.2004...spyblaster their other product is much better,at least its definitions are up to date
