Police Crackdown on Cameras in London

Post by TheProf »

Warning signs are going up in London's public areas inc Trafalgar Square, warning parents to beware of digital cameras & camera phones being used to spy on children.

All part of the crackdown on Paedophiles by the Mayor,Ken Livingstone, giving more powers to the police to arrest.

...next will be,stop & search...

Political paranoia at it's best. And when we all have our new ID cards Ken's tech'd up Met will be able to "swipe" you an on the spot conviction & send you on your way. Ah what a green & pleasant land we live in!

Yes, that'll stop them. They'll have to resort to using their own eyes.

I'm all for cracking down on paedophiles but this is bollocks.

Stopping people going into swimming pool changing rooms with cameras and making that illegal would be a good place to start and not only to stop paedos.

I remember a while back reading in the paper that some bloke was paying women to go into public changing rooms (swimming pools, gyms etc) to photograph women as they changed or come out of the shower and he then published them on a website. It happened in the states if I recall correctly.

That's the sort of place that cameras and camera-phones should be banned from.

You can see why he has not said FILM cameras, because that means processing the things and being reported. As both cameras, digital & film, look alike, where do we draw the line.Except of course, the mobile camera phone.

When the notices go up I presume we will see a camera with a red line through it,like 'no smoking' or now on over ground trains,'no mobiles'..

The notice will also included a lecture to parents to be on guard.

Air to be rationed next in London...spreading west!

I'm shocked woodgnome. That article has a pic of a little girl. How dare you publish such material on this site?
Sorry for the sarcasm but isn't that what all the silly banning of cameras is about.
