Softcore Scam Courtcase

Apologies if this subject has cropped up before, but i was passed a copy of May's FHM tody which had a feature called Britain's Biggest Losers. At No 47 came Nicholas Griffin, the owner of the Little Amsterdam sex shop in York and The Adult Shop in Grimsby, who apparently pleaded guilty in Court after being sued by irate punters who'd paid up to ?50 for softcore videos which were advertised as hardcore. Does anybody know about this case, how much he was fined and whether under the Law of Precedent it has prevented the likes of Sullivan from getting away with similar scams since?
And on the subject of Sullivan, today's Sport carried a long editorial urging everybody to go out and vote against the BNP, so the man does have some redeeming features.

I am glad to hear that DS is no mate of a fascist party like the BNP. In that respect I will support the Daily Sport. I have unfortunately had to listen to the BNP van (they couldnt afford a bus like the other parties) spewing their vile hate-filled messages all around my home city today.

But to get back on topic. A local dealer (unlisenced) got done for BOTH. He got done for selling soft advertised as hard (Trade Descriptions Act) and he also got done for selling hard stuff without a license (Video Recordings Act 1984).

The Court said "this is too soft" next minute they said "too hard "

That Griffin geezer is a charlatan - a DS 'lite' if you will. You will regularly see the shitty ads for his shitty non-products in the Sport and various crap top shelf mags. He has in his time not only pissed the punters off, but also colleagues in the industry. Some might say he's lucky to get off with a fine. In times gone by some might have discussed amongst themselves what would be the 'appropriate action' to take against such a thorn in their side.
